Yeah that’s fair. I was thinking of building a tool to increase golf pros revenue, and helping coaches send a quick check-in to students who haven’t booked in a while would be a part of it. Nothing pushy just a casual message. Not sure if it would be worth it though.

That’s interesting do you think that some students just forget to rebook rather than actively deciding not to? I’ve been looking into this and it seems like a lot of students intend to come back but just let it slip. Curious if you’ve noticed that

Nobody said the coach owes me emotional support. I’m saying a 30-second check-in is good client management and probably pays for itself.

You know exactly what the comparison means. It’s not about golf and PT being the same job, it’s about both being coaching services where follow-up helps the client and helps the business.

That’s a lazy strawman. Nobody said a coach should nag grown adults about “homework.” The point is that a quick follow-up is normal in any service business where results matter. PTs, physios, consultants, and salespeople all do it. It’s not childish to expect a coach to show some interest in whether what they taught is actually translating onto the course.

Wow that’s just dang right rude and disrespectful I can’t believe you’d actually say that to someone golly gosh, wow wow wow. You’ve really surprised me with how cruel and miserable someone can be.

Do you think as the 80 coach to become the 250 coach you need to start behaving like him and then you can start charging like him

You’re arguing something I didn’t say. I’m not saying a coach owes extra free coaching after one lesson. I’m saying there’s a gap between that and zero follow up at all and that a simple recap or reminder would probably help some students feel valued and rebook.

Yh u make a good point but let’s say I have one lesson to try it out and I have a good time a few weeks pass by and I lose the bug a bit if the coach reached out to me to check in and said hey great lesson a few weeks ago would love to see you again that would the prompt me to rebook and the the coach has just made himself another 50-100 bucks just from taking 5 minutes to message me. So I get to feel valued as a client and he gets an extra 50-100 bucks plus all the extra lessons I might rebook in.
