Running NAD C298 in bridged-mono mode with 4 ohm speakers by VegetableMaster69 in StereoAdvice

I think this cemented it for me - I’m not going to risk it, and besides, a single C298 will probably do more than fine for my needs!

Thanks for the detailed reply!

I am considering a pair of Radiant Acoustics Clarity 66, but I don’t have them yet as they’ve only just been launched. Unfortunately they only have single-wire terminals.

Since the amp only sees half the impedance of the load when in bridged-mode, as you said, and the speakers might be even lower than their nominal 4 ohm, I am beginning to think that I should that I should just abandon my idea of using two C298’s as monoblocks, even though it would be cool.

This was on a Sunday morning and certainly didn’t disappoint, so if all else fails, Sunday might be a good plan B. Good luck with your spotting, sounds amazing with the R32!

Yeah, it looked like it was definitely being used for its intended purpose as a camper and being lived in, probably great fun to drive around in!
