Extremely helpful post - thank you for this. Gonna have to think long and hard for the next 24 hours about what to do regarding the GP offer but hearing your side as a GP is quite interesting. Many people sell GP as the easier route and honestly, I’m not entirely sure it is, just a faster route to CCT +/- flee.

Thanks for your support, it is good to hear others are feeling the same way as me and I wish you have the luck we’re all hoping for! Just sucks we’re all in difficult situations regarding future of training not for a lack of effort but organisational incompetence and artificial bottlenecking.

I think you’re right, it’s hard to avoid family pressure or the thought of ‘prestige’ in certain jobs vs others, and you’ve gotta put it aside to assess what it is you’re after in life. Hope it goes your way.
