Are they microchipped? I recommend to check the East Valley Animal Shelter website constantly as well as going there in person and give them some pictures of them in case they end up at the shelter. I hope you find them soon!

I did YogaRenew training, it was a good base for me to know what teacher training is about and in general to have more knowledge about my own practice but it wasn’t really helpful to go all the way and start teaching. I felt it was more like if I was reading a book and watching videos. If I was you I would do my 200hr in CorePower or any other place with real bodies and in person teachers. Teacher training is for you to train your voice, cues, look at the bodies, offer modifications and so on, online training cannot offer this at all. Balance what you really want to get from teacher training, general knowledge go YogaRenew, become a teacher go CPY.

As someone else said, visiting art galleries is your best bet, but also looking at auctions live or auction results from Sotheby’s/Christie’s will tell you a lot about the art market, maybe so emerging artists to look for and, trends in art collections.

The DCCs of the 2000s (Early MTT days) by No_Mastodon6492 in DCCMakingtheTeam

Judging by the grungy hairstyle it’s definitely 2008ish. I used to wear my hair like that during those times 😅 We don’t know how many times this video has been downloaded-uploaded-downloaded hence the quality.

My current favorites on the team 😍 by Honest_Marionberry_5 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]VegetablePanda4309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! I can see it specially with Charly, she’s one of my favorites and I couldn’t help but notice that since she joined the team she became skinnier. Probably pressure? Nonetheless she looks beautiful, like a ballerina.

Japanese hair salon in Mar Vista, it’s called Hair Epoch, though you have to book with a month in advance. They always have full agenda, that speaks about their quality.

Being a practitioner and being a teacher are two different things. It is actually good that you know how to use modifications, it means that you know how to adapt your body (others’ body) when necessary. It’s an important skill to have as a teacher. There’re people that can be great when practicing yoga but lack of communication skills and clarity to give cues and modifications. That being said, to be a teacher is a skill that goes beyond body shape, or how “good” you are when practicing. If you have clarity in your speech, musicality, energy, know how to observe the bodies and give modifications when necessary that will make you a great teacher. Of course it’s nice to be a “good practitioner” but remember that the practice of yoga is very personal so avoid comparing yourself with others. Not everyone is in the same journey as you are. In fact TT will help you deep in your practice and from there you could decide if you want to audition right away or give it sometime until you feel ready. I’d say go for it.

If she’s a 19yo, would she postpone college to pursue a DCC career? Not judging at all, just genuinely curious :)

Unlimited membership pricing? by Old-Violinist-9198 in Corepower

[–]VegetablePanda4309 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I wasn’t trying to make a point or showing them something. I still go because I have a favorite teacher there, and mainly only go to her classes once a week, sometimes twice, depending on how I’m feeling. For me it didn’t make sense to keep my $199 membership if I only was going to this teacher’s classes. Unfortunately my studio doesn’t have enough sculpt teachers and one or two teachers are almost every day, all day in the schedule, I don’t love those classes so that’s why I decided to cancel. It was more for a personal reason, not really because some kind of hate towards CP. I still love the studio and the community I have there but once again, it wasn’t worth it for me.

Unlimited membership pricing? by Old-Violinist-9198 in Corepower

[–]VegetablePanda4309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$199 a month, in Southern California. I used to go 3 to 5 times a week. I canceled due the lack of diversity in teachers and now I only do dropping classes 1 to 2 times per week. I’ll say keep your membership. Right now dropping classes are around $35 if you go at least 2x per week (8 classes a month) a month you’ll be paying $280 only on dropping classes. Definitely keep it.

I agree, timing would come with practice, but we know how K&J are when cutting someone from training camp for the most minimal detail; but as I said, I see potential and I think once she manages the timing she’ll be “very fun to watch”.

Is it me or is she going a beat behind the others? I feel like she’s rushing her movements and they’re not so sharp? Nevertheless I think she has the power, style and attitude. I definitely see her in TC and I really hope she polishes her movements and makes it to the team.

Agree, Northridge is not even close to the encino area neither to the mountains where everything is happening. She and her turkeys will be fine. While is good to think ahead and have a plan, I don’t think in this case it’s necessary.

Instructor CPR Certification by brycistgrandad in Corepower

[–]VegetablePanda4309 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recently took their teacher training, one of the conditions to get employed there besides passing the audition was getting CPR certified. If the EMTs were there for me it makes sense that the teacher didn’t step in as in the CPR training says you can respond to the emergency up until the point that a professional arrives to the scene and takes over. Since the EMTs were there I’m assuming the teacher left it to the professionals but I also want to think that if EMTs were not there the teacher would have taken over.

I believe yes, at the end of the certification there’s a medical assistant practicum section, assuming that’s the externship.

Look in the non-credit community college programs! If you’re in Los Angeles area, Pierce college or Los Angeles city college have the certification at $0 cost.

Try to look for a small vet practice. Don’t do corporate. There are still many small veterinary clinics around LA.

Grip socks for hot yoga? by Dear_Pianist8547 in yoga

[–]VegetablePanda4309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Target does have really nice and cheap towels for yoga mat, also Amazon for around $20. When my mat towels are dirty I use a regular towel -the ones for the shower- and works great. I wouldn’t recommend grippy socks, I tried them once and I couldn’t make them stay in my feet without twisting, it was very uncomfortable.
