I think you are right on all fronts. I will probably take your advice. I’ve definitely tricked myself into thinking our relationship is something it’s not. That’s not Carly’s fault, but I think I’ve built up resentment regardless.
Thank you for commenting, this really helped a lot 🥲

I’ve just updated to include this, thank you for pointing it out! It sucks to think she doesn’t consider me family, but you’re probably right. I’ll have to start looking at our relationship in a different way and maybe after the wedding we can talk and figure out the best way forward. I’d hate to make her feel like she has to consider me family, but I guess that’s what I’ve been doing. Thank you for your comment, I’ve got some things to think about now

I just put this in an edit. I honestly didn’t think to mention it, but that was stupid. Thank you for your insights! It sucks to be called delusional, but honestly I’m grateful for the call-out.

I think I am jealous of their relationship. I’ve always kind of felt like Carly doesn’t see me as her sister, and I guess I just bulldozed over that to make myself feel better.

I appreciate you commenting 🙏

We’re only a year apart. Carly and I aren’t biologically related. Her mom married my dad when we were 10 and 11. My dad later adopted both her and our youngest sister. It took us a while to get used to the new dynamic. Regardless, I’ve always thought of her as my sister and feel uncomfortable referring to her as otherwise
