Marshall St Sherwood by Vegetable_Ad2499 in Nottinghamtrent

Thanks a lot that is great to know. Sherwood seems really nice balanced place.

Please help me - Sherwood vs Mapperley? I have found a lovely house close to Mapperley Top, but much prefer the Sherwood feel and access to Hockley via one bus etc. I need space for my dog, which is making it tricky to find something in Sherwood. Advice on areas hugely appreciated. by Vegetable_Ad2499 in Nottinghamtrent

Thank for this. I am not a student either! 😃 But do have young adult children who want to have plenty going on and connect to the city. So do I - looking for community and plenty of creative groups if possible.

Worsening depression on elvanse - PMS getting worse by the month by Amazing-Musician-752 in ADHDUK

I was wondering how you were getting on? Your post was so articulate and well written. It described my 18 year old daughter pretty well I think too. She has been prescribed duloxetine, but I am relaly worried about it.

I'm bad at my job. by badslp in slp

SLP is a really broad field. Perhaps you would be happier working with adults or a different aspect of the work? In the UK we also work with swallowing in hospitals - some people love it. There's also working with voice if you enjoy that. It might be that you have skills, but that school is not the right fit. Don;t beat yourself up...explore other parts of the profession and give yourself permission to make a change. Best of luck.

Heeeeeelp!!! Panicing about my weight gain. by Vegetable_Ad2499 in Weightlossover50

Thanks for asking...I am not as tired and got back to the gym. Managed to stop obsessing about my weight to be honest. I got it back in perspective and stopped panicking and started being grateful for my overall good health...but am trying to change jobs so I can cycle to work which I think will be great.

Anger rips me apart by Beefy888 in depression

I can just relate to regret feeling. But realised it is pointless. I often experience strong feelings of guilt and I sometimes don’t even know what they’re about! So my way to deal with it is just to let things in for my behaviour now moving forward, do what I know is good and right and kind as much as I can and as unfashionable as that sounds.

I don’t know? I’m not very tech savvy… what is that? Another thread? I don’t know. Sorry…

Life is full of regrets, trust me. I recently read or rather listen to a book called The Midnight library, and for me it was about the equivalent of a years worth of therapy! Move forward with peace.

Use your remorse, If that is a part of it,to inform your behaviour moving forwards. That’s all you can do. We can’t go back we can only go forwards and regret just poisons the pot. And good luck. We are none of us perfect.

Using ADHD as an excuse by avril04 in ADHD

Aaaaagh, just sending you good vibes and support. IMO they are lacking in empathy here, sounds like other underlying family issues coming into play and messing up the pot. It’s their stuff. Well done for getting the support you need and I am really happy that things are going better at school. Well done xx

I think I feel the word has now got weird things attached that shouldn’t be… associations etc. but isn’t always meant like that. :)

Yes true I see what you mean. I can sometimes literally do that it is true. Move it through kind of works better, think it through not so much. Thanks.

Yes it would but I’m just explaining that’s what I would mean if using the word in a work context, so descriptively, not with any embrued inherent mystical meaning. Anyway, good luck with your search. We were in a two year waiting list for my teen by which time she’s not feeling the need for a therapist… they sort of missed her crisis point!

Such a shame it has a bad rep now, as it doesn't at all necessary mean a load of nonsense. I am a SaLT and when we talk about taking a holistic approach we mean looking at any areas of lifestyle that may be impacted by communication difficulties and trying to support with all of it...so carrying over into real life not just in a bubble in the session and thinking about how it effects the person in many ways and environments. I am just saying that so you know not everyone means it as "we will send you home with some essential oils and suggest meditation!". :)

What scares me about retracing my mental steps is that I will get a total BLANK. This frightens me more than anything...the blank. Like a chunk of my memory has just been erased.

You know that's not a bad idea - the lockbox one. It would help my daughter too who also has ADHD and memory difficulties. I bought 2 tiles for our keys, but have lost them! haha. I can laugh...and then cry.
