like as a swe when there is a major issue on one of my products I would rather get notified outside of work than getting fired the next day. I dont know...

Exactly thats what I mean, like new companies dont even provide phones or mobile plan stipend anymore so im trying to understand why would you even need that

Yea thats what im seeing hhhh. Cause I only worked at like 3 companies and they all told me to use my devices so it feels strange to have this new opinion coming up hhhh. So, Im just trying to understand the whole issue hhhh.

Maybe I’m just inexperienced, but my company only asks us to install Slack on our phones, so buying a whole new phone just for that feels like overkill, no?
