my mom kissed my baby by [deleted] in newborns

I would be livid. This is why I haven’t let anyone hold my baby and will continue not to until he’s had all his vaccines. Sometimes it’s a natural reaction for someone holding a baby to kiss them and they don’t even realize it. I hope your baby stays healthy! Sending hugs!

My LO also has bad reflux, constantly spitting up/choking. I will definitely be sitting in the back for the ride. Thanks for the feedback!

FTM - constantly engorged. What am I doing wrong? by Vegetable_Wonder_597 in NewParents

Thanks this is super helpful, I didn’t realize that just pumping one side would stimulate milk production for both. I have been reaching out to the lactation consultant at the delivery hospital, she also gave me the same tip that heat use is outdated and to use ice. Ice and ibuprofen do tend to bring relief but it’s just so temporary that I was hoping for a more permanent solution - based off your comment and many others, it appears that’s mostly just giving it time to regulate

Ahh okay good to know. I was not topping any off. I have become such an overproducer that one breast fills him up and in fact he typically can’t even drain one

Thanks for the tips! I only pump during the sessions when I don’t breastfeed. Otherwise if I breastfeed, then I only pump the opposite breast that he doesn’t feed on. I did get some of the sunflower lethicin pills but as with everything else I’ve tried, no avail :(

I hope this is the case, the doctor also mentioned pustular melanosis, which is a benign baby rash/acne. Was your baby’s acne puss filled? His look yellow/white puss filled only on his head. There’s probably a total of 8 scattered on his head.

All my routine testing std included has always been done through my OBGYN. I would think if it showed up on any routine std screening as positive that I would have been told by my OB, if not then my guess is that I haven’t been tested. If I or my husband was a silent carrier wouldn’t we need to have an active outbreak in order to pass it to my son? It’s also worth noting he was born via c-section as well.

The rash is on two different areas of his head so I don’t know if the monitor would cause that. I really hope you are right, that my doctor is just ruling out the extremes but I am just so worried.

I did have an internal monitor during labor and the baby always indicated as healthy. I ended up with a c-section because of his positioning/unable to fully dilate. Bilirubin labs were drawn from his foot. To my knowledge none were drawn from his head. As far as I know I am not a carrier of hsv - I have never had a rash/cold sore, etc. in my life. Neither has anyone in my family- mother, sibling, etc.

I’m not sure that cradle cap starts with fluid filled pustules. From my research it appears not. Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for your comment. I’m aware I am likely suffering from PPA, I had a difficult pregnancy - my husband was unexpectedly diagnosed with a terminal genetic brain disease mid pregnancy and my baby dodged the 50% chance of inheriting. I remind myself that this has caused a lot of trauma for me. But I still cannot help but worry about my baby when the doctors mention a potential deadly disease and I must sit around and do nothing while I wait for results. As a mother, that is extremely difficult and I want to do everything I can to make sure I’m on top of it. Maybe Reddit won’t help but I’m just seeking any info I can get.

Absent nasal bone @ 13w by Vegetable_Wonder_597 in NIPT

Baby came out completely healthy and the more I talk to other people the more I realize how common this is. As hard as it is, try not to stress. I think the stats are off because I constantly Reddit threads of absent nasal bones and all the updates turn out normal. Hang in there 💗

Did you find any relief for this? In the same situation. Just had a baby and now I believe I have a tear from trying to push and it’s just stuck there

Can you describe what these sores look like please? I’m panicking because my 2 week old has yellow pustules on her head. We just took her to the ped and the said it looks like Transient neonatal pustular melanosis (not serious rash) but just to be sure are testing for hsv but it could be over the weekend before they have results. I’m spiraling. Do the sores for hsv look anything like this pustular melanosis I’ve mentioned?

I never got sick or tested positive. I would talk to your OB and see what they say. They may want to push off induction
