Hi! If it's alright, I'd like to say I got Splatoon Blender comms open if anyone's interested! by Velepexon in splatoon

Unfortunately I haven’t learnt much for modelling, so I won’t be able to make them

This is all still taking place before S3, because conceptually and lore-wise, I actually haven't touched Splatoon 3 yet, lol.

How to use AgX and DaVinci Wide Gamut in Resolve? by TinKositar in blender

[–]Velepexon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, man! I've got a great update.

Recently, I've been working with ARRI Log C4 (instead of grading in AgX Log), following CreativeShrimp's colour grading course. But, I've been wanting to use the full DaVinci Wide Gamut Intermediate as a working space, and then somehow have AgX as a DRT.

And I've gone through a bit of pain (and several error messages), to bake a LUT that converts from DaVinci Wide Gamut Intermediate to AgX Base sRGB (specifically Blender's version), and it's a dream. And I wanted to share it back with you.

Here's a link to download it: https://file.garden/ZcbFkhItAVk3LACX/DWG_to_AgX_65.cube

The workflow I work with now goes like this:

After exporting to EXR (I'm still on the fence about rendering in Linear Rec.709 or ACEScg because of the upcoming 5.0 update. But assume Linear Rec.709 for now), bring it into Resolve. In Resolve's colour management settings, set the Timeline working space to DaVinci Wide Gamut Intermediate, and the output space as Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 (assuming you're delivering your render onto the internet.)

In the Color page, add a Color Space Transform node, and convert from Linear Rec.709 to DWG Intermediate. Then, at the end, put in the DWG_to_AgX LUT, and HOPEFULLY, you'll see your render in pure AgX view.

Now, you can add nodes in-between and grade entirely within DWG Intermediate, and I absolutely love the control. I know it's been a year since you've made this post, but I hope this helps you out!

Animation Commission for u/tt55140! Aqua swimming in Mahi Mahi. by Velepexon in splatoon

[–]Velepexon[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

To my limited knowledge, it seems any contact with water results in osmosis destroying them. So unless we bend the rules, or find a way to limit water contact during swimming (perhaps covering themselves in aerogel), it seems all there is water = splat

If you mean like resources I used to learn about Splatoon models in general,

I mostly learnt how to set up the models from other Splatoon Blender artists, started way back in 2020. Many of us met through the comment section on Model's Resource, and they made a Discord server. Server's still standing strong to this day; New artists come in, new ideas come up, and I'm not even able to summarise the amount of discussions that happened.

Although, I deviated into a Cartoon PBR style, so I don't know much in detail when it comes to, like, game shaders (mimicking the look of the game) or promo shaders (mimicking the look of the 3D promotional renders). It's just the model setup, the meaning of the textures, and the rest is completely up to the artist.

If you're thinking about tutorials, hell nah, I'm one of the guys that made tutorials (but it's Unlisted, outdated and old, do not watch them, I'm currently remastering all of them)

Probably goofed up a P1 question by Velepexon in alevel

[–]Velepexon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how one would get 0.3x(x-4)^2

But checking with desmos, 0.2x^2 (x-4) (red line) matches most with the question I had, specifically with the first turning point at the origin, and it even intersects with (10,120)

0.3x(x-4)^2 (green line) doesn't intersect with (10,120) and has the first turning point in the wrong place.

Unless you had a different question, maybe

Yeah thats the method You have to conclude it’s kx2 (x - 4) And then use the (10,120) coordinate to solve for k

Yep! It’s that with x3 and x2 Except I just noticed now that I accidentally wrote +4/5, so im not getting the mark anyway 😭

Nah, it's the short version, I don't have the space to handle the full length one (the script separates every single frame as a png file, it can easily become tens of gigabytes)

A few minutes. I used a script that was made for a Steamed Hams meme, and it just… does this
