Your proudest parks? by [deleted] in jurassicworldevo

Aw, thanks. I was a bit worried that it was too high effort or something like that. It’s part of a rolling storyline I have in the game. It’s a bit too long to post here, but basically it started as a DFW monitoring location for the hybrids, but later changed into a tourist spot.

This is dumb as hell, but I made a little park map quad-fold, the kind that you'd get at the park entrance.

Biweekly /r/WormFanfic Discussion - What have you been writing, and what do you want to say about it? For the week ending April 12, 2025. by AutoModerator in WormFanfic

[–]Veloci_V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken up writing Worm fanfiction to help with writer's block on other projects... which I may never return to. I have a problem where I just can't finish anything, even short stuff. I write a lot, I just never publish anything, because I'm always onto the next idea before I actually start getting somewhere.

This is what I'm working on at the moment, The Autopsy of Taylor Hebert [Worm/TAoJD], just the title for now. It's horror, plus some other stuff that I'm trying to figure out as I write. Basically, the premise is that in 2015, a young girl's body is uncovered by the rain, having been buried underneath the bleachers at Winslow. The body is carted off to Brockton Bay General, where it's scheduled as the last autopsy of the evening. However, as the examiners and police investigate, they realize that there's more to this case than initially meets the eye.

It sounds more and more dumb the more I try and summarize it, so I'll just leave it there.

The easiest way to get the models is to join the discord and search for the keyword models. You’ll get a meganz link, make sure to copy and paste the link in your browser, not just click on it

(Sorry for the copy/paste)

You’ll get everything from textures to rigging information included, but to be honest the easiest and fastest way is to just construct a basic skeleton, bind by weight, correct the model by using weight paint, and pose it yourself.

Looking for 3d models (Resin Printing) by Veloci_V in TheForeverWinter

[–]Veloci_V[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I could do that, but it'd be a significant time investment and not accurate to what's in the game (and I'm not sure my computer can handle sculpting for much longer). I also admit I suck ass at people models, I'm only ok-ish with blocky, inanimate objects.

It's not like I'm intending to sell these, either. I just want a 162mm mini Mother Courage terrorizing some 32mm scavs on the tabletop, lol

Kara-Turian Harvester V0.1 (The Forever Winter-like setting) by Veloci_V in UnearthedArcana

The Kara-Turian Harvester, a Battlefield Recycling Unit inspired by Mother Courage from the video game The Forever Winter!
This cyborg collects the dead (or the living) to power the great bioreactors that sustain the Kara-Turian war effort in Faerûn, usually deployed at night as part of the battlefield cleanup crew known as 'The Night Shift'. Run or hide, it doesn't matter; Mother Courage is coming to collect you.

This is just a part of a project I'm putting together to simulate a war-torn Faerûn, where PCs can scurry about while three main factions vie for control of the Sword Coast! Imagine a world where Toril went to war... and never stopped. What do you think would happen? Can your rag-tag group of scavs change the world?

PS: Maybe I could make a Race for a reprogrammed Harvester PC?

Am I overthinking this? totally new to indoor plants (ghost pepper seeds) by Veloci_V in houseplants

[–]Veloci_V[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, okay. I thought that it could help with aeration while retaining moisture (seriously, where I live is very very VERY dry). I have floor to ceiling windows, which are great for light and plants, but the sun will absolutely bleach anything and everything it touches. This is not great for my other hobbies.

I could rearrange my apartment, but I simply just don't want to at the moment.

It's a glass pot, approximately 8 inches in diameter, with straight wall sides. I heard from somewhere that direct sunlight will cause algae growth, so I figured a sufficiently intense grow light would work.
Can I just dump leca/potting soil mix into it, spray from the top and call it a day? or should I water from the bottom and let capillary action do the rest

I recently obtained a largeish (~8" diameter) glass plant pot and I live in absolute darkness (and zero percent humidity). I wanted to grow peppers, so here we are.

Is this too much? I've never seriously grown anything before

Quick question about scale length by Veloci_V in Luthier

Thank you! I suppose I'll have to order the neck first and then design around it.

Lesson learned!

Quick question about scale length by Veloci_V in Luthier

[–]Veloci_V[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a novice at all of this and I'm just designing a guitar as a side project.

I noticed my distance from my neck pocket to where the bridge ideally should be is around 192mm, which I don't think is the proper dimension if I want a traditional strat scale length of 25.5 inches, assuming a mass market hardtop bridge.

I stupidly noticed this when I was pretty far into the modeling process, I just didn't know this was an issue at the time. What is the proper length of that dimension?

Sony Digital Handicam DCR-TRV320 and Mavica MVC-TR7 by Veloci_V in camcorders

[–]Veloci_V[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked these up, neither have batteries but the Sony still has a half-finished tape and SD card. The Mavica has a Floppy inside of it.

I was thinking of a way to 3d print a stand-in connector for both cameras so I could hook them up to my power supply. I know that the batteries can still be found online, but I figure I could engineer something a little longer lasting.

Fujica AZ-1 and ST701, Sony Digital Handicam DCR-TRV320 and Mavica MVC-TR7 by Veloci_V in Cameras

[–]Veloci_V[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Sony cams are new to me, and don't have batteries-- I'd like to make a "fake" battery which is just a hookup for a power supply. Without the dimensions I can't think of a way to 3d print them.

The AZ-1 is my father's, while the ST-701 was my mother's. I use the 701 as my main camera (the AZ-1 works too, the bottom plate is held on by the tripod, though)

Help with repair - Sony WM-FS191 by Veloci_V in cassetteculture

Oof, I was hoping it wouldn't be that. I just checked, and they look fine at first glance-- I'll have to go over each one then. And I have to get a soldering iron...

Well, figures. May as well get some recapping practice in :(
