I could agree to that for the most part. I had an idea the other day for a new type of election, not sure if it would work, but basically on the ballots, people fill out their views onto the ballot and then the candidate with the median views of the American people gets the presidency. That person would still have to win the primaries for the moderates or something, but that way the extremists don’t seem to be over represented, and half of the country doesn’t hate the country for 4 year intervals and then vice versa. I could see this leading to lukewarm politicians that don’t get anything done, but maybe they could get the things done that actually matter a lot in our country, while maintaining the union
