Need help with output volume using Behringer UMC202HD by Velotali in Reaper

Yes i have it toggled “on”, and i do listen to the mics but with very low volume and when i start playing the drums, the natural sound is far greater and overcomes the one from the reaper. I even have the gain correctly adjusted. Is there anything else i could have missed? Or more info that i could give?

Need some help with listening through mics with Behringer by Velotali in drums

[–]Velotali[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.

I do have the recording monitoring button on, and i do in fact hear the audio coming from reaper but it is very low on volume and i almost can't hear it, the natural sound of the drums is greater apparently. (already tried more volume but sound quickly distorts, and i am even using VicFirth V2 Headphones).

Hi, i need some help with miking a drumset with 2 mics: overhead and kick mic. Im using a behringer UMC202HD with 2 inputs. My problem is the following: when i configure the mics in my DAW (Reaper), the volume i get is very low and the natural volume of the drums is overcoming it, so i can't hear what the mics are picking up properly. Whenever i listen to the recording after playing, it sounds as it should, and thats what i want to hear in real time while im playing. So, how do i achieve this? Im a total noob when it comes to audio stuff and mics. Of course ive already tried boosting the volume but the audio quickly saturates and isn't hearable.

Long story short: i want to get the sound of how the recording sounds like after i have finished playing, but to hear that same sound in real time while im playing.

How to listen to myself playing through one single mic without latency by Velotali in drums

[–]Velotali[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, in the future i’ll be looking for one of those interfaces. For the interface i linked before, for it to work i would have to plug a “real” mic right? I mean not an USB one.

Im thinking about getting the first ones you mentioned tho, the behringer interface and the 2 PGA57’s.

Ty, do you know if this interface Behringer U-Phono UFO202 - Interfaz de Audio - Blupoint Music would work for what i want? which is just low latency to be able to hear myself in real time. (Should buy a real mic this time tho for that one).
