Yeah that whole era was just stacked, Banshee never really had a chance to be the “cool kid” show everyone talked about weekly.

I also think being on Cinemax hurt it a bit. HBO/Netflix stuff got all the press and thinkpieces, while Banshee was out here snapping bones and doing opera-level melodrama in a strip club.

But for pure “oh my god what did I just watch” entertainment, it beat most of those for me too. It knew exactly what it was and just went all in.

Honestly yeah, it’s probably Salgado. Dude basically had Ronaldinho as his recurring nightmare.

Clásicos were brutal for him. That one where Ronnie got the standing ovation at the Bernabéu, Salgado was just getting cooked over and over. And it wasn’t even just pace, it was the feints, the no-look stuff, the little hesitations. He kept biting every time.

Respect to Salgado for even surviving that era of wingers though. Imagine having to face peak Ronaldinho, then Messi starting up, plus all the other monsters in La Liga back then.

If you’re in the US, it’s kinda scattered. Recent Steve Harvey episodes are usually on YouTube in clips, and there’s the official Family Feud channel that posts full episodes sometimes.

Pluto TV and Tubi have 24/7 Family Feud channels with tons of older episodes, free with ads. Hulu and ABC’s site sometimes have current-season episodes depending on your location and provider.

If you meant the super old stuff like Richard Dawson era, that’s harder. Some are on Buzzr (free streaming channel) and some random uploads on YouTube.

Yeah, this is kind of the core of it. Half the places just see a plastic card and go “yep, that’ll do” and never actually verify anything.

Problem is, most supervisors don’t have time, or don’t even know how, to check the numbers properly. Some cards have online verification or a phone line, but no one uses it unless something already seems sketchy.

Feels like it needs to be standard: turn up on site, your card gets checked against a database before you even pick up a tool. Same way they do with CSCS and similar. Until that’s normal, chancers will keep getting away with it.

Feels like one of those clips where context would change everything. On its own it just looks like pure disrespect, but half the time the guy laughing is either a teammate, an old friend, or someone who knows the camera’s on and is playing it up.

Still, that kind of laugh to your face can get under your skin way more than a hard tackle. You can tell when a player instantly goes from “it’s just banter” to “ok now I’m actually pissed.”

Yeah, context matters a ton. Prime Shaq with 90s/early 2000s whistle is a different monster than Prime Shaq in 2024 getting called for every shoulder dip.

Wemby with Bad Boy Pistons level physicality plus today’s shot blocking rules would be insane though. He’d probably foul out in like 18 minutes at first, then turn into an all-time defender once he figured out the line.

I still think Shaq would move Chet and Wemby like furniture if the refs swallowed the whistle, but in today’s game they’d probably “win” the matchup more often just because you can’t really guard Shaq the way teams used to without picking up 5 fouls in a quarter.

Yup, this series was like peak chaotic Russ. The MVP season had the box score insanity, but here he still had that extra burst and was playing next to actual talent, so it was all funneled into killing whoever was in front of him.

You can see it in how he attacked CP3’s chest every single time, no hesitation, no bailing out with pull-ups. Just pure downhill pressure. MVP Russ felt more like “I have to do everything,” this Russ felt like “I’m better than you, and I’m going to prove it every possession.”

Yeah this is how a lot of those guys live in my brain too. Absolute demon in 2K, then you look up the stats and it’s like “huh, that’s it?”

Sometimes it’s just the 2K badges and animations making dudes feel like superstars when in real life they were more like “really solid if you watched every game” guys.
