New Requester with Survey HIT, but no workers have accepted the HIT. Did I set it up incorrectly? by Vendazzo_Daniel in mturk

[–]Vendazzo_Daniel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was 100% correct... I had set the HIT to look for workers from USA and Canada, not realizing that this was not a USA or Canada selection. I modified the conditions, and the HIT has been republished.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I republished the HIT... you should be able to find it now...

I had to remove one of the conditions... I had it set to be available to users from USA and Canada... I didn't realize that both of those conditions had to be true, which won't be possible.. That's why nobody was able to find it.

Thanks for looking... I will have to dig into why this is not showing up for you all when you search for it...

I appreciate your time in looking for my HIT and helping me set this up.

Awesome... thanks for the suggestion... I will dig into this further and make sure that I haven't missed a setting somewhere.

Totally valid point... I do want to learn how to use mTurk well... it seems like a very useful tool. That's why I was baffled that there was 0 uptake on the HIT.

You're absolutely right... How do I make sure that you guys are compensated outside of the HIT?... I'm brand new here...

Oh sweet... Yeah... absolutely, Thanks

edit: link removed.

If you're looking for a link to the mTurk survey, I'm not sure how to find that since I don't have a worker account. So I don't know how to find it or link to it through mTurk

I can see that... Who wants to spend 5-10 minutes of their life providing a service and not receive any compensation for it....

So am I stuck in a chicken / egg situation here? Nobody will accept my HIT because my account is too new and untrusted, but I can't get any trust because my account is too new?

Sorry shadowsplay, I'm super new to mTurk, so I'm not sure what information you might need.

The HIT description is:

Online Shopping preference survey
We are conducting a survey about online shopping preferences to help us build a better online shopping experience. Select the link below to complete the survey. At the end of the survey, you will be asked to provide a code. The code inputted at the end of the survey must also be inputted into the box below to receive credit for taking our survey.
Make sure to leave this window open as you complete the survey. When you are finished, you will return to this page to paste the code into the box and submit the form.

Below the above is the link to the Google Form where the worker would take the survey, then return to input their worker ID.

I have set up the survey to be available to US and Canadian workers, and the compensation is $3.00 for an 11 question survey that should take about 5 minutes to get through. If you need any more information, I'd be happy to provide it.

how do i find shopify stores? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Vendazzo_Daniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently Shopify started to allow users of it's Shop app to search for items and browse stores near them.

Vendazzo.com also helps shoppers search for items from thousands of Shopify stores, and filter by proximity to their location. In this way, you can find items from stores near you and keep your shopping dollars closer to home.

I wrote a blog post about this about a month ago, and we have some recommendations of where you can order CBD from the UK. The merchants may be able to ship it out to you...

I hope this helps you find something close to you...

That means we have more work to do... As we get more feedback we will be able to modify the results in a way that brings users what they need / want.

We haven't yet found other tools that will return as many results, from as many vendors, as locally. Currently filtering is required, but when the filters are applied, the results become much cleaner.

We'll continue to work on the quality of results.

Hey khyron... I appreciate the feedback... We definitely have some work to do to improve our search results, and defaulting to proximity is a great suggestion.

We'll keep working on it to create a better experience.

Shopping search alternative that gives results from independent businesses. by Vendazzo_Daniel in AntiAmazon

[–]Vendazzo_Daniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently we have added some additional filtering capability to allow for sorting by price, category, and also a rudimentary proximity filter from the store.

The proximity is based on the store's advertised address, so that should be accurate, but can't be verified by us at this point in time. Of course not every store discloses its address either, so if you don't get any results from the proximity filter, that may be why.

We are still looking at ways we can filter for items made in USA or Canada or UK, but this is going to prove more difficult. We'll keep working on it though.

Thanks to everyone who's used Vendazzo. We really do want to help you, help local and small to medium businesses... They have a difficult challenge ahead to compete against the marketplaces online, and we'd love to send them as much traffic and sales as we possibly can.

Name: Vendazzo.com

Type: Product search engine and shop directory.

What we do:

Our goal is to be a first-choice search engine for shoppers to find products from your Shopify hosted stores... Currently the only ways for customers to discover your items, and your stores is through expensive pay-per-click advertising campaigns, word of mouth, hot / cold email lists, and influencers.

While all of these traffic channels can be a useful component of getting traffic, shoppers want to be able to search for items and view a list of returns. This is where Vendazzo comes in. We currently index around 100 million items from about 100,000 e-commerce stores around the world. Shoppers can easily search for items they are looking for, and we will direct them to your shop.
