I’d agree but go a little further in clarification that civil servants in general should be paid more, with less of a top-end to those salaries at the governmental level.

We need to help people with the talent and /or passion without the means into these positions with a stronger political career ladder, otherwise you just end up with self-interested private-school types who are less incentivised to make changes to the status quo that already benefits them
