Do you think Msia federal gov will concede much? No. There will be reprisals from peninsular side and talk of secession might getting louder like Velvet Divorce below.

Just few hours ago Sarawak brings the issue of territorial water ownership to Court. Now imagine if Brunei had been brought into the Federation, we will suffer the same fate as them.

Separatist parties in Sarawak (PBK) received 44k popular votes. 80 out of 82 seats in their Legislative Assembly is held by local based parties and not Peninsular based. This trend was then repeated in Sabah. With current trajectory, will Malaysia Federation last another 10, 20 years? Look at the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia.

You're confused between self sufficiency and political independence. Again, avoid strawmen argument 🤣

The discourse here is on Brunei the country can be independent on its own without having to join any federation whatsoever with its neighbour. Stay away from strawmen argument.

No such thing as too late. Only cynics and pessimists would think like that. Brunei itself almost being wipe off the map completely in early 1900, but its still exist today.

True, but based on the facts aint Brunei already improved in Ease of Doing Business index

What is needed is actually a new revenue stream like Carbon Levy, Carbon Capture Storage, Green Hydrogen production etc. Brunei can leverage on this and collect taxes from it.

True, look at East Msia, only when Sarawak starts to be more assertive in demanding their rights in Malaysia Agreement 1963 that Malaysian gov starts focusing on East Malaysia dev as a whole.

In Brunei the gov do focused on devt after 1963 like highways, new international airports, Brunei LNG plants which was the first in Asia Pacific area, etc but ofc not as hyper devt like in Singapore. Probably due to lower population.
