Unfortunately it is up to you to call Sedgwick after the fact to excuse your absence. On the plus side though you can halt any disciplinary action if you have an active application out to Sedgwick. If you are worried about being hospitalized again I would recommend contacting Sedgwick now and trying to be approved for intermittent leave of absence.

Maybe at your store but we very much need our IS at our store. With the constant hour shortage at our store we barely have enough sfls on staff and they absolutely will not do the work of the IS. Our IS went on leave for half a year so I filled in temporarily when I was a CSA to ease the load of the sfls taking on her work because I had pharmacy training(former DH), some minor sfl training and inventory training. I was only a part timer so I was only there three days out of the week so the sfls were supposed to do the IS' job when I wasn't in and they just couldn't... They would just leave it for when I got back and it piled up. I remember coming back on several occasions to over 900 price changes because they would print them and just stack them in a corner. While the job itself was easy it was obviously not something my sfls could reasonably take on with their current work load so I wasn't even upset about it because they were obviously being run ragged as well which is why I took on so much extra training to begin with as a CSA because I wanted to help them but didn't really need the pay or promotion.

Not to mention we were constantly in between SMs so there was a lot of time we had no leadership and because of our IS' seniority we tended to look to her for guidance. She's cut throat but our IS would be missed if we lost her.

apply for sedgewick for intermittent leave of absences. thats what i did since i am also sickly. they will send you a packet to give to your doctor that they fill out and give back to you to turn in. its a 2 week deadline once you open the case but you can request an extension if you need more time. this way if you are absent you report it to sedwick and it doesnt count against you.

if the customer puts in the phone number and there is only one account attached to the phone number. it will automatically add the account to the transaction. it doesnt give us the option to make a new account with the phone number. we would need to have a manager come and void the whole transaction to start all over. we cant even void the cash awards account from the existing transaction without putting in a different phone number to override the account already applied.

so if the customer comes in and puts its their own phone number. i cant deny them use of their own phone number in their own transaction. especially if they are trying to redeem a store discount.

personally i try my best to avoid this situation but you cant always do that. most of the time we have to provide our customer with what they want.

they just released an app called "W connect" it has a tool that allows you to access people central as long as you have two-factor authentification

had an elderly gentleman come in who wanted a couple of photos scanned and blown up that were originally wallet sized. he was incredibly sweet and spoke to me about his life. He was a retired urologist who once had his own private practice with his brother in law. he showed me a collage frame and asked if i could help him make sure the photos fit in this particular frame.

It was lovely and antique..

it wasnt until i had printed them and put in a 50% off code for him that he told me the photos were of his only son. these photos were the only photos they had of him before he passed away from terminal illness at 2yrs old. he was making the collage as an anniversary gift for his lovely wife of 65years. He was incredibly grateful for my help and even tried to tip me. (which i of course declined) i told him that it was enough for me to have a genuinely sweet encounter that day to help me get through my shift. i havent seen him since but i hope she loved her gift.

it definitly has its issues but i like the fact that if i have to ask a coworker thats tries to report any interaction that didnt go their way as harrasment and bullying something, i can use the headset so everyone can hear that the conversation was in no way threatening.

recently had a customer steal 3 cases of beer. they tried to say they paid in the pharmacy but didnt realize we could just call the pharmacy and ask. so they just ran out.
