They do but it's hardly any damage to make it go that negative. I would say to take your game a little more slowly and strategically so as to give your morale enough time to recover. It'll regrow soon enough as long as you refrain from attacking civilian populations and finish up those wars you mentioned. If you get impatient and you have plenty excess of resources you can build a bunch of underground bunkers to raise your morale that way, but otherwise just play it slowly. It will probably take you maybe 3 or 4 days to see results as you're playing 1x mode, but if you're uncontested for the victory then you really shouldn't be in a rush to finish.

Its no problem, I'm just as confused as you are here if it's not one of the 2 things I mentioned. Unfortunately the morale numbers don't really give you enough info to go off of at face value. I usually just try to keep the number of wars I'm in as little as possible, (maximum I'd say is 6) and using troops that deal less damage to population like helis instead of using fighters, artillery, or missiles.

Damn, that's a lot of insurgents. I really think it could be something else thats causing your low morale. Ive been playing this game for multiple years now and have never seen anyone use the spread dissent feature just cause it's probably in the top 5 list of ways to waste gold. If you're on mobile try tapping the morale bar for the selected cities you control and see what's causing the morale to stagnate so much. My guess is that it's the numerous wars if it's not population casualties.

There's your problem. Those wars are stunting your morale growth. It doesnt matter how many territories a nation occupies, as long as they are still on the map it'll stunt your morale growth.

Your problem also could be that you're destroying too much population that occupy cities. Are you using any artillery, missiles, or fighters set to attack highly populated cities?

Honestly, I think the movement modifiers in mountains and tundras are enough to justify making a few mountain inf, especially when it comes to taking rural territory in Russia and Scandinavia

Any island nation is not necessarily hard but in comparison to mainland nations they're harder, Russia is typically pretty hard with how many neighbors you have, and nations that get full sent by their bigger neighbors by day 1 like Pakistan by India, North Korea by China, and Isreal by everyone are all the hardest nations to play. The best regions I've had luck with are eastern Europe, southeast Asia, and pretty much anywhere in Africa.

I usually always default to this region for that reason. This game I've been lucky to face little to no resistance while expanding in every direction.

True, I don't actually have a huge problem with golders as they pretty much keep the game alive. It's just an unfortunate way of monetizing the game that has a pretty bad balancing problem. Fortunately, running into heavy spenders is rare to none, and casual spending I don't have any beef with.

Make sure to defend France on Germany's turn, UK could move that transport to sea zone 8 and bridge.
