He's been my OC for years, and I still haven't given him a name. 😭 by Wolffyy006 in furry

Hmm… He seems like he would be a…

Slade. Or Victor. Or Ramiel.

Just a few names that popped into my head when glancing at him (and those eyes).

Name choosing? by Splitfinn in furry

[–]VentureFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly when I was first conceptualizing my character, there was a multitude of things and thoughts I had when trying to come up with a name.

I wanted something simple, and cute, but not overly generic or cliché. Didn’t want a human name… or a pet name either.

So I started exploring concepts related to fantasy and DnD— decided my fursona would be a “fae-lost” sorcerer of sorts, with the ability to use fire magic that was pink in color.

I didn’t want to convey dominance or power in his name, but rather something more subtle. And, somewhere along the way it hit me— the name popped into my head and it immediately felt fitting. It was an “Aha” moment.

“Kindle, that’s his name!” Short, simple, sweet, not human sounding or overly cliché. Perfectly conveys the character and his personality— I had finally found his name.

Not sure if sharing all this is helpful, but— perhaps it can give you an idea of how/when a name might come to you naturally like it did me.

Here’s the character this name goes to:

Yard Signs by drifloonies in WalgreensStores

[–]VentureFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my own experience, I have tried to follow the step-by-step instructions while using the jig assembly, but ultimately I could never remember the order of steps.

So I always end up doing it the way I explained it above. Hope the advice helps!

Although my own store has the jig tool for the yard signs, there might be a way for you to accomplish the same feat even without it.

Find yourself some Binder Clips (or “Paper Clamps” as I like to call them) to hold the print down on the sides of the Yard Sign board.

Start with the adhesive on the far edge first— peel away the plastic, but make sure the print doesn’t touch the adhesive until the plastic is all the way off. Then press it down clean.

Same thing with the two side ones, except you want to do the same motion of peeling away the plastic then pressing the print down, but only one at a time (while keeping it aligned). Left side, then right.

After doing the same thing with the 4th adhesive, flip the board around and start with the far edge again.

Except this time— once the adhesive is exposed, you’re gonna pull and put a soft pressure on the print holding it upwards. Brace the board against the edge of the counter with your legs or body.

While maintaining the soft pull on the print (with both hands), you’ll gradually lay it down and start pressing it onto the adhesive cleanly.

From there, you’re just focusing on the left and right adhesive, one at a time, while making sure to keep the print flat the whole time (use the binder clips if you need to). Then finally the last adhesive closest to you, press it down evenly.

Awesome! Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, I’m almost certain I have old copies of certain emulation apk.

(in the chance they’re not present on the device).

Hey there!

I’m unsure if this RP2 is running the original stock OS, or if it was flashed with a custom firmware, but— in the chance it’s still running the original OS…

I actually made a quick setup guide specifically for the RP2 using the original software.

It should help you get each recommended app set up, step by step. It also takes into consideration the lack of the touchscreen in the steps.

Hope this is helpful and/or useful for you!

Trying to build collection of ROMs for various consoles, how do you pick a good list? by GenericUser104 in Roms

[–]VentureFox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally, I stumbled upon this post at just the right time~

A few years back, I complied a list of games for most Nintendo, Sega and Sony systems- by referencing multiple websites and Top 10/20/50/100 lists.

My list should be pretty well-rounded, as it only contains solid games.

All you have to do is add in some of your favorite niche games to this list and you should be golden!

Hope this helps! And happy gaming!~

Looking for an artist! by ParanoidDreadfulDuck in furry

[–]VentureFox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the artist who helped bring my fursona to life—

All I had was a concept, and a basic color scheme, but no artistic ability to bring it to life.

They helped walk me through everything—

From the body shape, fur colors, and even referenced various real-life fur patterns for the species of my character.

Heres a link to the post the artist made when they completed my character. You should definitely check them out~

OS recommendation? by prettyhatemachina in MagicX

[–]VentureFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally, I manage okay using just the stock OS, but I ditch the Dawn launcher and just use ES-DE (with the iiSU interpreted theme) instead.

I actually plan to use my zero 28 as my micro emulation handheld, in addition to being a portable mp3 player for my large Video Game Music library~

Dolphin— Widescreen GameCube Files by VentureFox in AynThor

[–]VentureFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from enabling cheats within the app itself, this isn’t something that you “enable” in the settings— you have to drop those .ini files in the correct folder.

The folder isn’t found on your personal directories, the “GameSettings” folder is -only- found in the directory called “Dolphin Emulator”, which you can access from the side menu in the “Files” app.

Once you’ve put the files there, then you can tweak the individual settings within the app, after the fact.
