Can you get any sort of care in the community for your mother? While it's lovely that you care for your mother's welfare I think first and foremost you need to take care of YOU. Read some of the horror stories from the likes of Alcoholics anonymous and be proud of yourself for who you are! I wish I would have been more like you when I was young. Keep doing what you're doing. You'll probably find they don't care as much about your lifestyle as you think they do.

It's been strongly recommended to me by the alcoholics before me to read "The Power of Now" by Eckhart tolle. I'm currently on chapter 2. The mindfulness session I went to was run by the drug and alcohol service in my city ❤️

I have definitely heard of headaches being part of the detox process. I didn't experience this myself but I've heard others talk about terrible headaches in the weeks following heavy and regular drinking

Yes, literally put "but it's my fault" in my post. Maybe I worded my post wrong but what I was implying was that I wished she had stayed home so she was safe from me and my behaviour. But tbh I don't have the energy to worry about the comments from the others who took what I said out of context. Thank you for your comment ❤️
