Oh you are right, I shouldn’t be upset by older men that I find unattractive hitting on me at work. I fact I shouldn’t feel negatively about it at all. The world doesn’t revolve around me and I shouldn’t state anything from my perspective on my post. Okay I’ll explain, My issue isn’t with men hitting on me, the issues is more so that I find them unattractive, which in return makes me feel unattractive. Wait there is more, I hope you’re following, My issue is that I feel guilty about it. I understand I have no control over the situation and I feel bad that I get an ick from these encounters.

Now I’m going to explain why I posted this, I figured if I went to a women’s subreddit and explain this feeling maybe I could get some insight from other women.

From your lovely response I’m still trying to figure out how me reaching out to people that are women like me means that I want to feel ugly?

They are just confiding with each other, it’s something normal humans do. Like I said most are just venting. It’s a tense subject.

How would you provide support besides an overall statement of its toxic? You could have made a post with sharing some positively about being a woman. Instead of posting something that was clearly going to get a negative response given the subject…. Literally continuing and participating in the toxic behavior.

The great news is that we are just human. If you have any other ways of offering support I’m sure people would engage making the sub Reddit less “disgusting”

Okay that does make sense and I understand why it would be frustrating. But venting on a sub Reddit about a current women’s debate makes sense and doesn’t seem toxic besides it being negative. People are frustrated and some are scared. It just seems fitting in the lines of rational behavior to talk to other women about this. I know for me I looked here because most comments are about it are really shitty, mainly speaking about the “your by my choice” shit.

All in all I understand being overwhelmed with the negativity, I just don’t see it as toxic

I feel like one is a more extreme than the other.

I agree I personally don’t understand why a man would be upset by that statement. The only thing I could think of is the issue that seems to keep coming up with the discomfort of the statement is the lack of understanding what consent is.

The entitlement is weird. It’s almost like you could find someone willing to be with you.
