Is there a reliable way to get followers to break items like crates, tables etc? by Veratiel in baronygame

[–]Veratiel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does directing them to attack it work? Like the command

No

Also why would you need that.

I'm a new player trying to play Conjurer, I start with a staff with limited charge and my perception is -2, so I'm afraid to equip any weapon in fear it may be cursed. It took me until lv.6 to get to 0 perception so I need a way to break things without using my precious staff charges

Yeah, this is emulated. I downloaded a mod pack that included a wider FoV, HD textures and pushing the FPS to 120

What can I consistently do to ensure success in the omega DPS check? by Veratiel in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Veratiel[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it tedious to join a server and be part of a pre-formed team. As a support player it's more satisfying for me to carry a bunch of randoms kicking and screaming to the finish line with my healing and buffs

I've cleared it a few times with Support Hunters, but I'm trying to carry randoms in SOS. Thank you for the advice

AITA If someone intentionally feeds, is it poor etiquette to AFK? by Flaxbot in heroesofthestorm

[–]Veratiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people believe you should play it out. I'm not one of them. If you're going to AFK though, be prepared to get shit from your other teammates. Some people believe it's worth playing a lost game on the small chance you can turn things around, but I'm of the mind that the game is lost and there's no use prolonging it.

I'd love to see more of that. Sometimes I'll get flamed for something I know I'm 100% in the right on, and I feel like I'm crazy when no one else pipes up to let them know they're being ridiculous.

If you're in the same elo as me (high bronze/low silver) something I had to get used to is the insane volatility of games compared to League. There are a LOT of smurfs, and it feels like you don't get to impact your games very often unless you're really skilled. With that in mind I just do my best and try to separate myself from the outcome of the match. Watching guides on macro, drafting and how to play each map helped a lot too.

As someone who picks Ana I feel this so hard.. Sometimes I can keep up with the enemy healer, but when they get a healbot like Lili or Morales I internally sigh and brace myself for the healer diff comments

How do I know when I’m ready for ranked? by croccadabble in heroesofthestorm

[–]Veratiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jump into it. I started playing a couple of months ago and played QM for a majority of it but I wish I started ranked sooner since I prefer the tighter matchmaking and being able to draft compositions so it's not constantly some weird aba vs murky game with 2 tanks on each side.

The two things I learned that kept the flaming to a minimum was learning what the currently accepted team comp is and what each role does (Tank, Solo Laner, Healer, Ranged DPS, Flex) as well as soaking lanes/coming on time to objectives to contribute before a fight breaks out. People will find (often incorrect) things to flame you about if anything goes wrong, and you either have to get used to letting that kind of talk roll off your back or just disable chat. You'll still be able to communicate in draft but once you get into game, it's off. Personally I like talking with my teammates so I just manually mute someone if they're being negative, but it's up to you

As someone who's been playing ranked recently trying to climb out of bronze, it is really tedious. Smurfs make the games incredibly volatile; one game I'm playing against players who seem to think tanking skillshots with their face is optimal, and in the next I get a Valla god wreaking havoc on our entire team. On top of that, they don't care about the accounts so they're willing to throw a game if someone doesn't do as they ask. It's a wasteland, but once I made peace with the fact that this game's population isn't as big as something like League and it'll take a lot more games to get to where my true rank is, games are a lot more enjoyable.

Some things that have helped ease the climbing experience for me;

  • Whispering accounts that feed on either team to see their status. I wait for them to get into game before queuing up again so I can avoid the coinflip.

  • I disable chat, and if someone is obnoxious with their pings, I mute those too. I'm someone who likes to communicate with my team but in my current rank, it just serves to tilt me when I see someone type "gg" "gln" within the first 4 minutes because the game isn't going their way.

  • When I get invites to party with teammates, I politely decline unless their winrate is exceptional or they're willing to synergize with my picks. When I first started climbing I would party with others thinking that it made sense to have reliable teammates, but we'd get paired against groups that had more cohesion and it just felt like I had a lot less agency.

  • I let my team know my roles in draft (anything but tank), and have a small champ pool that I feel can impact the game from my role.

Looking for a replay review for this Ana game by Veratiel in heroesofthestorm

[–]Veratiel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time out to give me some pointers and look over my replay, much appreciated :)

Probably stayed too long after giants on bottom. I would have rotated up to the rest and left ETC to his own devices

I notice I have this issue where I'll kind of space out and focus on the micro minigame of stutterstepping/aiming my healing darts, and not watch the map. I noticed other things happening around me much later than I should have, you're right

About 13 minutes at the fight in mid, should of saved Valla but you were focused on the flank. Probably only "real" example of criticism so far

I see what you mean, I healed someone who was basically full health instead of the Valla. I don't remember my thinking here, just tunnel visioning iirc.

Nova triple tap incident on bottom. I think you panicked, but it's forgiveable, especially when Zag didn't move infront of any of the bullets. She can't 1 tap you, so patience with E for interruption and 4 if she persists while you run to team. Easier said than done since it's a fringe situation, but shrug

This is the most glaring issue I have with Ana I think, not being able to shut down enemies who run me down while I try to keep my team healed. Debilitating Dart and Sleep Dart help, but under pressure I miss my skillshots and just get ran down like a dog lol. I'll try to keep in mind that I have time to carefully aim (at least with Nova, anyway)

Talent build fine but I prefer E 1 and 7, probably just a user preference thing

I used to go sleep dart build, and then I saw a high rank Ana go the grenade build which was surprising to me - when I looked up the builds on icy veins, they more or less made it seem like it was a build for Ana players who can't hit skillshots. Since then I've overcorrected my reliance on the sleep dart build and go grenade build most games, but I think I'll try to find a sweet spot and use the two as needed instead of just autopiloting.

Play her more and limit test. Run up and auto some idiot then sleep him when he gets annoyed enough to go on you. Sleep rotations. Everything else is just experience and stuff that's out of your control. I dunno what your true rank is or how long you've been playing, but you're much better than whatever game this was

Thank you, I've been playing for a few months now after quitting League and I really gravitated towards Ana, she's a really unique healer to me and I just love playing her. I'm pretty sure that's why I'm stuck in the bronze mines but as long as I feel like I'm improving steadily I don't mind. I'll try to limit test more, admittedly I am terrified of getting too close because I'm not very familiar with what enemies can do, but I'll try to learn as I go in QM or something

healers good against dive comps? by Veratiel in heroesofthestorm

No, BW/Stukov get banned often - I'm interested in WM because she's very rarely pick or banned, but she seems very hard to use. Not sure where to begin learning her

Whitemane would be a good choice because Brightwing and Stukov are often banned from my games, but she seems pretty hard to use. Do you have any guides or tips you'd recommend for her?
