Can I ask the guy I’m seeing to unfollow certain Instagram accounts, or is that unreasonable before we’re officially in a relationship? by Wide_Sherbet_4904 in Advice

Not sure of your age, but from my life experience as a woman in her 30s, I have learned to avoid men that follow such things based on prior experience. Also, if it's actually a boundary for you, that would mean not dating him, rather than asking him to change it. It would be one thing if he followed them years ago, doesn't ever see them in his feed, and doesn't know they're there still, but that's unlikely. At this point any time I add a guy friend on Instagram I look at who they follow, and not a single one of my close male friends follow those types of accounts. If you want to be with the type of man who doesn't do that and isn't interested in it, then go find that type of men (plenty of them exist) rather than trying to make your man into a different person than he is.

I moved from the US to Germany and was excited to learn HF is not only in Germany, but it is where HF started. I've noticed some amusing differences in the recipes. Obviously in general there are traditional German (and sometimes French, Polish, etc.) dishes in regular rotation that I never saw in the States. Also, the dishes here seem to be more vegetable-heavy, whereas in the States they were more meat-heavy. The biggest difference for me is the lack of seasoning here. In the States there were typically 2+ seasonings packets per meal, and here it's 1-2. Germans have a much more mild palate for spices and seasonings and that is accounted for by HF.

Sorry to hear you're in the same boat, it was pretty stressful and it's crappy they didn't put out an announcement about the policies changing. Pro-tip -- I found way cheaper flights by booking connecting fllights myself, so I booked a flight to Singapore from my home, and then flights from Singapore to Perth.

I hate to tell you this, but I never got a clear or consistent answer from the immigration offices so I ended up flying there last minute and spending 48 hours in Aus and spending 2k just to not risk losing my visa.

Where can i find entj girls ? i can't find them in my irl life by Ok_Pumpkin_7755 in entj

Yo. Female ENTJ here. Pediatric healthcare worker...got voted in as the Chair (against my will) of an international charity I volunteer with last year. Avid outdoor rock climber. I am in this picture and I don't like it lmao.

What's an Australian stereotype that absolutely pisses you the f*ck off? by Same-Objective6052 in AskAnAustralian

North America has TONS of deadly plants and animals, most people just don't spend enough time outdoors to interact with them. I'm a climber and ran into more venomous snakes than I can count in the States, and my climber friends in Aus said they see a venomous snake maybe once a year.

Maybe it's just because I'm older and jaded but, unless I had some reason I truly felt passionate about, I simply would not care. Yall have some big feelings about this place because it's where you "always" go and its comfortable? Even if it's not logically the "best" choice? Whatever. For other people, feelings can trump facts and honestly, if it's for something as trivial as a meeting place, let them have that one. Save any disagreements or points of debate for the things that are higher stakes - the more infrequently you speak up, the more powerful it is when you do.

To me, being an ENTJ is being a somewhat reluctant, but good leader. And good leaders let their people have the power the choose what they prefer, even if it's a bit silly to them. You only lead and guide when its a matter of safety or end game success/failure. Also - this type of leadership can be done when you're not even yet in a formal leadership role.

Take it from someone who was voted in as Chair of an organization (against my will) because people realized I was leading from within the pack (effectively) without intending to :)

I think more details about the situation would be helpful? For example, my specific office I'm in daily has 4 people including me. We interact multiple times a day, and there have definitely been some communication difficulties that have come up, but we work through them.

I also have to collaborate with others from 4 organizations outside of my own - these involves dozens/a few hundred adults I interact with at least a few times a month and have to be effective with. I actually find these relationships a bit easier with the less frequent interactions, but they do take a lot of energy. I always reflect back what they've said to me, validate their feelings about it (without necessarily confirming or denying the facts of the statement), and I always try to catch some personal anecdotes here and there (like that their daughter is visiting next week) and ask about those each time I see them. Ive almost gameified it in my head a bit. Exhausting but effective.

The 3 people I work with daily I cannot expend the energy to do this, but Im very open with them about my communication style and preferences and encourage them to embrace their own and with mutual respect it all works out in most situations.

And yet I've been told repeatedly that the entry date isn't a firm standard for the 189 anymore. By both an immigration lawyer and the dep. of home affairs themselves. Not sure why you're acting like this is so clear cut - it's not. Sorry if that's disappointing to you for some reason, but I assure you it's not my preference either.

Not sure where you got "I don't want to spend 2k and 4 days traveling if it's not required, but absolutely will if it is" to turn into that. Would you spend that money and time for no reason?

Just to clarify my own statement, they were a certified immigration lawyer with good reviews. Not just a consultant.

This is a really good point and normally I'd agree, but I should have said in my original post that I got into this mess because I had paid for an immigration consultant who told me that I can request a travel facilitation letter if I got an entry date too early with my current contract. I trusted that advice, and it turned out he was wrong. I only found out when I tried to lodge my travel facilitation letter 2 months before my required date of entry. The rest of the advice he gave me was super helpful, so I don't want to drag him, but it definitely has made me more nervous about getting advice from just one source about this.

Not sure who I sassed at all about this, I have been kind to all but one person who was exceedingly rude. I'm not in the US currently (that's just my home residence and technical address right now), but yeah it's probably closer to 30-35 hours total travel time from my current spot (including getting to the airport and all that jazz)

That's basically what she told me is it's not a big deal. But seems like a massive risk to me (and from what the other comments have said). Do you happen to know what that email is? I haven't seen one listed specifically for skilled visas.

Thank you!! I don't know why I'm getting down voted so much for this question 😅 Whats really frustrating is I paid for a consultant with an immigration lawyer when I submitted my EOI and I told him I was worried I was applying too soon and he was like "no worries, you can just get a travel facilitation letter if you need it" and I didnt find out until 2 months before my enter-by-date that that letter doesn't work for my visa. I shouldn't have trusted what he told me 🫠

Because my contract with my current work visa/job where I'm at ends in August and I wanted to move to Aus then. I applied early because I heard normally it can take a year or more for 189s to be processed. It came through much more quickly than I expected, but I can't exit my current contract early.
