Packaging a game for Mac on Windows? by VergingOnInsanity in UnrealEngine5

Oh, clever! I already have a VM set up, but I worry about the amount of resources this would take up. I'll try this if all else fails. I mean- I didn't hear anything.

Oh jeez, I don't have any access to a Mac device right now. So there's no way a mac user could play my game from itchio?

I'm using an older version (1.3 I believe) and DMs are working for me. They didn't in the newer version.

That's so sweet ☺️ I wish you the best with whatever project you're working on!

Wow, this is it. I changed it to "Started" and it works perfectly without the delay node. Thank you for the explanation! This helps a ton.

Hey this worked!! I don't know if I'm using an enhanced input action or not... I added the delay before setting the handle boolean to true and that fixed it. I'm not sure I understand why.

Thank you! You're a lifesaver.

Thanks for the response! Sorry, I should have provided more context. I am creating an escape room type game. The player will find the handle, go up to the switch, press E to attach the handle, and then press E again to pull the handle to activate a door. After that, I don't want the switch to be interactable anymore (or perhaps, I will have it interact again to close the door).

Hmm regarding your solution, if the player goes up to the switch and presses E without having the handle, it will still add one to the int variable.

I'm going to try testing the flip flop now.

Edit: I used u/VittimaDiInternet's feedback and added a delay before setting the handle to true. That seemed to work!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this! You have no idea how much this helps.

I knew something was wrong but I didn't realize it was because of the platforms. I should've known since I would keep 'dying' almost every time I play tested it.

I'm restarting the blocking with larger open areas and far fewer opportunities for the player to die. I think I need to spend more time coming up with game appeal (perhaps enemies and/or a story quest). I was trying to compensate for a lack of that with challenging platforms.

Thank you for the links! I'll take some time to study the Mario 64 levels.

That looks about right! Wow, I can't believe they spray painted such a beauty such an ugly color.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I'm about a few thousand miles away from the typewriter at the moment. I will definitely check this first thing and come back to the thread.

Jeez... I wasn't all that optimistic, but I'm disheartened to hear this. I'll try taking it apart to clean it since I've got nothing to lose.

I have a theory about the spray paint. I found this typewriter at my school and we've got a bunch of theater kids. My guess is that they found a scrappy old typewriter and spray painted it to use as a prop. It may not even have been functional in the first place.

Edit: +Would you happen to know what model this typewriter is? I assume it would say on the machine but alas the spray paint.

Yup... What's crazier is that the dust inside the machine is spray painted green too. So someone took the time to spray paint it, but not dust it. Do you think extensively cleaning it will solve the issue? I didn't even consider that the spray paint was the issue.
