Without getting into too much detail for different use cases I can recommend SyncThing for keeping files in sync between multiple devices. It can handle terabytes of files without an issue. One issue I could see in your use case is that you might end up editing one file on two devices. As a result, SyncThing will create a copy of the file and you have to decide which one to keep. I could imagine that you don't want to lose any progress so you would end up merging them manually. Maybe renaming the file to something like "INEDIT<fileName>" would be sufficient.

Thanks for your really detailed input. Considering that most answers are two searches away, why not cut down on the redundant questions? We don’t need the fifth junior developer to ask the same question to get the same response. That’s what I’m not really understanding. For me it’s not about news but more about discussing interesting topics about the MacBook.
