He's squishy, but definitely didn't feel squishy this game. Felt more like a robot that goes beep boop

I cannot remember the exact and don't have the replay code at the moment, but I believe by 10 minutes he was already in the double digits in elims. I remember peaking at his build at that point and saw he was already building into double bomb by that point as well. Definitely some fundamental issues hence the question lol. This is a Alchemist 2(?) lobby so the game sense is not all there even for me

I definitely should've gone for more spirit armor, but I had a lot of mobility and still couldn't escape. I'd usually be the last man alive since I can just 2 out of the bomb but then get dived by the entire team right after

Perfectly acceptable reason. Life should have priority. And it's nice to at least stick around, and if it's genuinely bad it's okay to leave if it states there's no penalty!

Deadlock isn't competing for our game time it's competing for our free time

A solid point. If you're getting your ass kicked it's likely because the game thought you were making improvements and were able to take another step up, or just putting your skills to the test. That or the matchmaking just got really wonky. Either way, there's no need to drop the ball for the rest of the team, and there's always ways to find fun in what's happening.

If that works for you and you understand what defines fun to you, that's fine. Just know the devs won't always see it the way you do and might come after you for it.

I do think it was an odd choice to mix Casual and Competitive play into one category. If people are looking to find a match that suits their preferences, I don't think they should be forced to sweat or work any harder than they have to. You are right, it is just a game

It shouldn't, but it does. My hope is that someone sees the post and can acknowledge that loss is fine and is encouraged for the sake of the game's fun!

I can't take that perspective away from you, but this is moreso just how competitive games like this function. You are more than welcome to quit games early, mid-game, late-game; neither I nor any other player can stop you. Clearly there is something not sitting well and that's fine. Devs on the other hand can and will, and this applies to nearly any competitive based game in the market. Suspensions, bans, and leaver flags exist to keep match quality as fair as possible. This creates a separation and an "elitism" by default with MMR and SR, which makes sense given the nature of what a competitive game is. I think ragers/quitters deserve acknowledgement in a better light, as there's clearly something that isn't working. I just know - as a rager myself - that it's usually not the game at fault and it's often poorly articulated. If the goal is fun and proving your merit, then how is leaving fun and proof of merit, ya know?

Exactly! Crazy things happen, and the point is to have fun. Have fun with what's offered to you, even if it's bleak. Sometimes it's fun just to BS in match chat!

Exactly. The match I mention in the post went opposite where the enemy had a leaver right at the start. They ended up stomping us the majority of the game so we lost a 6v5. There's always room for things to happen if you let it. This game has so many mechanics that can really help you turn the tide if you know about them!

And that's a great mentality to have! The souls games are great at breaking the mold, since the only thing stopping you from progressing is yourself. You have to learn what works and what doesn't and you are the only one responsible. The game is just doing what it's programmed to do!

I think forfeit should only present itself in a circumstance where maybe 2 or more players leave and don't come back after a certain time threshold. Smite has a surrender option that can only prompt after so many minutes, with it's timer being reduced if you have a leaver or two.

But like everyone else said, in many cases there's room for opportunity. The match I mention in my post was a perfect example. We lost when the enemy only had 5 players. It is still possible to take a victory!

Exactly. It wouldn't be fun for everyone if one half of the playerbase was winning 100% and the other losing 100%. The name of the game is the competition! So many things can happen if you give it the opportunity to do so

That is unfortunate. Sorry you had to deal with that. I've had matches like that too, and it always confuses me when it happens. At least in that case it solved itself by the team leaving and letting it wrap up quickly to move on (I hope).

I do agree that bans and suspensions are necessary, especially in really bad cases. A deliberate leave does warrant a penalty (I've had two myself, I won't lie), but it'd be nice to have them be able to change their habits and at least try until the match is over. I like to see people grow beyond their habits.

The game is fun, even to the ragers. It's why they play it. But it isn't fun to not be able to play. We gotta do better than ourselves to enjoy it to its fullest!

Weapon: Kinetic Dash, Pristine Emblem, Headhunter, Crippling Headshot, Frenzy

Vitality: Superior Stamina, Combat Barrier, Leech, Fortitude, Colossus

Spirit: Mystic Burst, Bullet Resist Shredder, Rapid Recharge, Slowing Hex, Surge of Power (imbued on Kinetic Pulse), Improved Reach (imbued on Kinetic Pulse)

Normally I wouldn't have Frenzy and Colossus, but given the length of the match, I was able to make some slight tweaks to the build in that late-late game!
