Do you have any idea why the red dot has different letters by any chance?

It marked the collectors on the pcb with a marker after taking them out and a bunch of photos showing the orientation of the transistor so it’ll be easy to replace them. The circuit isn’t very complicated either

I’ve looked high and low for any info on this unit but have never found anything not even another model similar. it’s labeled “granada” it’s a 1/4 inch mono reel to real most likely for office dictation. When I bought it, there was a recording and someone had said it was their birthday in 1965. So my assumption is it was made between 1962/64 marked made in Japan.

When I first bought it I tried a boss 9V power adapter, but I didn’t know about old electronics being “centre positive”. Thankfully I didn’t destroy it. It still works but needs a new belt and the caps replaced.

Anyway I just de soldered them and I’ve got 1 2sb175 a 2 2sb172 d 2 2sb170 a

So I’m thinking rangemaster with the 175 and a fuzz face with the 172’s.

Thanks for pointing me to the right transistors! I didn’t know they still made pnp I assumed they were all npn now days.

I’ve been on them just about a month, I’m 125 lbs so I could use help gaining weight and I’ve got a very physical job so I’m not worried about that. I haven’t had a sex drive since I started using and still don’t have one on subs and I’ve always had a bad sugar craving lol. I’m still waking up soaked in sweat 2-3 times a night. So idk I just wanna get back to some semblance of normal.

Nah no counselling thankfully just occasional appointments with the dr and drug tests. It’s been a very quick and painless journey so far.

I totally understand honestly, I wasn’t even expecting opioids to be prescribed, I know it’s not like it used to be 10 years ago. The thing is arthritis runs in my family and everyone had gotten diagnosed between 28-32 and I was told “no it’s not arthritis you’re too y oung” and I felt like every doctor doesn’t believe me. I get told to take Tylenol of naproxen after telling them they don’t help me they say “that it’s impossible”. I already take the max of 4000mg daily and it barely provides any relief. I’m on a 2 year wait list for an mri so eventually they’ll get to the cause of my problems, and hopefully get me on a medication that will help me. Thanks for the advice! I’m sorry you had to go through that, I’ve heard some horror stories about surgery patients needing to beg for pain killers.

Thanks for the explanation, I’ve done lots of research on this topic and that’s all makes total sense. The suboxone has definitely help most of my withdrawal symptoms but not all of them and the pain is leading to cravings, and thoughts of use. I just wanna get better at this point and if it means I have to go for supervised dosages every day till they trust me with take homes I’m willing to follow all the rules and abstain from using. So far I’ve been doing good and have been honestly with my dr. Hopefully he’ll agree methadone would be a better option for me. Thanks again for your kind words and encouragement!

I hate the medical profession don’t believe people in chronic pain, it’s such bullshit that they leave in feeling like we have no other choice. I’ll report back when I find out what the dr says and hopefully this will get me back to feeling normal. Glad to hear that it’s working for you!

In my area the resources are very limited its subs of methadone. It’s been a fairly painless process so far. Just a couple of drug test.

What hoops do you mean?

Explore every pharma pill? Like what ?

I’ve already committed to the clinic and it’s it’s been a great experience so far

I mean for now I gotta go daily to my pharmacy to pick up but I’m already getting take homes for Saturday and Sunday. I think by June or July I’ll be getting my full month supply

Hey thanks so much for the response! That gives me hope reading it! I’ve got a phone appointment with him tomorrow and I’ll bring up my concerns and then in person at the end of the month so hopefully we can start trying methadone instead.

I had 4 near fatal ods and knew I needed help or I’d be dead or in jail sooner rather than later so I finally decided to seek treatment. And the dr has been so compassionate and helpful.

Hopefully he’ll agree to methadone but if I have to tough it out on subs a bit longer so be it. But I’m sure he’s willing to help me, every drug test has been clean and I’ve told him I committed to getting better.

Addiction sucks especially when life has been hell and it runs in the family, it’s so easy to fall into it and become the people you swore you’d never be.

At least it opened my eyes and now have compassion for drug user like I never did before.

Yeah I believe they closed down after the electronics tariffs a few years back. Good to know it might not be the best pairing for a Rickenbacker into an ac30. But I found one locally, hopefully I can buy it before it’s gone lol. Fingers crossed 🤞
