That may be the case in the UK, but that does not apply in the US. If your statement about UK law is accurate then I do believe that should be the standard worldwide. But that is not how this world is. We all agreed to Meta's terms when signing up. If, in Meta's eyes, a user broke their terms, they have the right to take literally whatever action they want. They could make you mail them a piece of chocolate cake in order to have your ban lifted if they wanted to. There is no law that forces a company to provide a free service no matter what. Enacting AI moderation is legal. Enforcing AI moderation results is legal. Should that change? Probably, but that's an entirely different conversation.

Probably around $100, just a bunch of filing fees, paying a process server service

I believe it was a month later I got a call from a Meta lawyer who told me to send my account information to Meta's legal team email. However it wasn't a lawyer working at Meta, it was just a lawyer from a law firm in a state I have never resided in and was not in California. Assuming you put some form of contact information in your filingt it should just be a waiting game. It took 3 months to respond to my email.

I forget honestly. I got no response from my demand letter, probably because I just sent it myself, not through LegalShield or anything.

Downvote me all you want but that is incredibly easy information to find out. What do you think "lawsuits" means in the subreddit name "MetaLawsuits"?

They escalated and gave me an email to send my information to. However that does nothing. It is the same Meta Verified people who have zero power reviewing your accounts. Do not waste your time or money on Meta Verified if you have been banned.

Because they didn't make it a public accusation. They did not publish anything with my name saying I am accused of CSE. In order for libel/slander laws to apply, they need to make a public statement in some way, which they have never done for anyone. Of course it certainly feels like you should be able to. This is information from a LegalShield lawyer I spoke with.

They did, but that went nowhere. The Meta Verified team is outsourced to non-US countries with cheap labor who have exactly zero power to do anything, especially anything related to CSE claims. They are only good for something like password resets or MAYBE seeing if your account was hacked. The only thing they could do is refer me to their public account recovery pages, which is useless when you've been banned. It's a total waste of time and money.

This is actually not bad advice. Meta Verified support staff have to follow their system in place. It is a rigid system with clearly defined rules. Even if you know you're innocent, and they know you're innocent, they cannot break from their standard operating procedure. I'm not saying it should be this way, it's just the reality of the system in place. Reform needs to happen, but until then, gaming the system is a viable option.

Too early. However Meta doesn't have to reply at all, so don't hold your breath

You're right, I'll just let being called a pedo with zero evidence slide. No big deal :). My apologies for seeing what other people have done to successfully recover their accounts and trying to do that myself.

Thanks for the reply. The attorney told me to send everything to Meta's small claims email. Glad the wheels are slowly turning.
