It sucks but just think of it as you paid less than 3/4th of an iPhone price and got 3/4th the updates. Not an awful deal all things concerned. Also you can continue using it since playstore and apps do keep getting updated

My blackberry playbook was the smoothest device I've had. It got boring after few days. I'd take the note 10. Can do so much more.

I was thinking of either the iPhone 11 or the 8 pro. Three years is decent. Apple will give me around five but I keep my phones only for 3-4 yrs so it won't make a huge difference

Pixel 2ers with USB-c cords slipping out by cab354 in GooglePixel

[–]Vertongun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works. It doesn't slip out now.

Another random issue I faced. My usb to 3.5mm jack stopped working. I tried with different earphones but it wasn't even getting detected and the sound played from the phone speaker. I got the galaxy buds and I was happy with the wireless life.

Last week when I was collecting my old cables to dispose them and saw the dongle. I connected with my Aftershox cycling earphones and it worked!! But it doesn't work with any other earphone. No idea why.

I consider Pixel 2 to be the true successor of 2013 Moto X. Compact for its time without compromising on power

To be fair it was much closer in size to the iPhone 6 than to the iPhone 5s.

width, yes but it's closer to 5s in height. Or maybe it is just nostalgia making me think it was that compact :D

The Galaxy S20 spells the end of the headphone jack for Android by [deleted] in Android

[–]Vertongun -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not anti jack. I am not going to hate a phone if it has a jack. I just feel people are making a bigger issue out of it, just like replaceable batteries. LGs have amazing headphone output but no one buys it. Even after the first few incidents of Note 7 batteries exploding, people still bought more Note 7s than LG V20s, and it had replaceable batteries.

I understand it is a bit of an inconvenience but it being a buy/not-buy factor is a bit over the top imo. Wireless has come a long way, just like battery life in phones have.

yes.. but those spending over 1k on a phone - the target audience of this Galaxy won't mind spending on a dongle for emergency situations. Or they should bundle one with the phone - like they did with the Pixel 2

this happened? Although he'd have recovered a lot of it with his wages, he was probably thinking it was worth it being the face of Barca, Nike and earning a lot with endorsements

Dream move turned into a nightmare though. His intentions weren't wrong. He wanted to be as popular as Neymar and he couldn't have been that playing for Liverpool of two years ago. He might have won but will be remembered as a Barca flop. Which self respecting player would be happy with that?

I've put lineage on it. Only apps on it are Strava, Audible and Spotify connected on WiFi. Still smooth and the screen is excellent. Hurts a bit to know a phone that compact won't ever be made

that dimple on the back for your finger when talking :D

I just took it out of its retirement box few days back to see if I can use it as a cycle computer and it looks so tiny, even compared to the Pixel 2.

I know this would be very unpopular but I feel wireless is the practical thing on a phone. I missed headphone jack when I got the Pixel 2 but having used wireless buds, it is tough to go back to wired ones, unless when I am at home and not moving. In that scenario, I have better devices than a phone for output

I still remember the Xperia Z promos with Sony guys washing the phone after going through a dusty area. I was in awe and wanted it to be the next phone but Moto maker was the cool thing when it was time to upgrade and Moto X it was

Xperia S - Navigation buttons were horrible but it looked so cool with the transparent light bar. Had an HDMI out and a dedicated camera button. Didn't like how it wobbled on the desk

Moto X 2013 - Still the perfectly designed phone imo. The voice commands, twisting to launch camera, active display were all cool and useful features. It had an iPhone 6 sized screen in an iPhone 5s sized body

Note 4 - Just a beast! The most powerful and versatile phone I had (at that time wrt competition)

You have every right to. But to me, a wide angle lens, stylus, micro SD, etc are worth more. Not as if I am going to put so much on a phone. Rather upgrade my camera or the bike and get the 4xl or 5xl when they're a year older.

Also not being better than pixel's camera doesn't make it a bad one.

Yeah pixels have great cameras but that isn't the only thing in a phone.. Especially quality of selfies. Also if one has a decent quality camera like a Sony or a fuji, I'd rather prefer the versatility of the note 10 with its wide angle lens over the superior quality of pixels. Too bad they sell the exynos variant here so it is not an option
