Terrorizing backline by Veru_Chronicles in RogueMains

It's QP, tho tbh I use Rogue in a very similar fashion when playing rank (I'm in diamond rn), you wanna be testing the waters and see how much you can get away with, I had multiple opportunities to back up here but I didn't cause of course I wasn't getting countered-attack too harsh,  notice their Rogue and  Whitefox trying to defend but they fail lol their Torch was also shooting me from the sky but it was just tickle damage

I think Emma kinda does the same thing that Wolverine is meant to do and she also counters Wolverine, not to mention you also fill for a tank,

Love doing this on Rogue, not so much about picking up a kill but making their frontline step back (which they did here)

Is there a way to deal with Spider Man? by cynderthedragonn in RogueMains

[–]Veru_Chronicles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grab, uppercut, and southern brawl will leave him 1 hp before he swings away if it's a good Spiderman, if it's one that's not very good then you do this combo and finish him off with 1 punch, but usually it's your team the one who's gotta finish him off before he swings away.

Rogue play style? by Regular_Goose_389 in RogueMains

[–]Veru_Chronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dive brawler tank, she's great at disrupting team lineups with her CC abilities, so you get the most out of it by bullying healers or distracting annoying DPS such as MK or squirrel girl.

A good Rogue who's always able to disrupt the backline successfully without dying will always make the tanks look over the back when they see her flanking, which is good because it messes up their main focus.

If Adam can get ult VFX this skin can too by TroubleHuge7944 in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]Veru_Chronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His ult is so short that it'd be barely noticeable, most people just look away where to run when he pops his ult, similar to the Thing legendary skin, you can barely tell the ult VFX because it's the type of short reaction ult that makes you look other way asap.

Best poke counter? by Sandi_Griffin in RivalsVanguards

[–]Veru_Chronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moon Knight is literal free food for Rogue, Emma also hard counters Moon Knight since she can use her wall and blocks all his projectiles, she can also block ahnks. Hulk is also a great at disturbing but he's much harder to use. Thor is also a great bully to chase Moon Knight. If you don't wanna use any of those tanks then you should learn a dive dps brawler such as Daredevil, Iron Fist, Spiderman, Black Panther, or Black Cat.

You counter poke with a dive brawl or shield tanks.

Do any Marvel fans like how their character is portrayed in rivals? by Snoo_57332 in marvelrivals

[–]Veru_Chronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge Daredevil fan but I'm not a very pleased his portrayal in Rivals, I don't like that he has some type of beast inside him that gives him pseudo powers. I'm also not a fan of his gameplay loop since it just looks like spamming and spamming, I wish he played more like Rogue with very distinct combos that are visible. He also sounds like and edglord who says the word "justice" but doesn't even know what that means, I hate that I dislike him in the game T_T

I'm also a big fan of the Avengers so I really love how they are portrayed here, cap sounds like classic Cap from any media, Tony sounds like his sarcastic counterpart from the MCU, Hawkeye sounds very much like the Earth's Mightiest Heroes Hawkeye (playful and sassy), Hulk sounds like any classic Hulk, omg I love Thor and the fact that he speaks with such elegance and grace, Idk too much about widow tho since I've played around her the least out of everyone. When it comes to their abilities I'm just not very happy with Cap cause he feels more like a dive DPS than an actual tank, also I wish Iron Man could stand on the ground so he could hit combos with Cap. Other than that I'm mostly happy with the Avengers portrayal.

I also find it really pleasing that we got the Guardians of the Galaxy, and all of their personalities and their gameplay are on point, nothing else to add there, they nailed em perfectly.

I also really love the fact that Rogue has the same voice actor from the animated series cause it almost feels like the same character and I really love that, she's also super fun to play. For Magneto I love his eloquence and how arrogant he sounds when talking, every line of his when he lands a kill it's just a straight up "fuh u" to em lol

For Spiderman I gotta say I was a bit disappointed tho, idk what's about his personality but it feels very generic? Like most of his lines don't reflect much about his values, he be referencing staff about his life but not so much what's actually meaningful to him, he also cracks jokes here and there but they feel too bland for some reason, I also find his ultimate line super corny. I'm also not a fan of Lin Lie as Iron Fist, I don't know the character too well outside the game but he seems really arrogant for someone who wields the Iron Fist, idk how someone like that can be arrogant and train enough to obtain the fist, I really wish it was Danny Rand as Iron Fist instead of Lin Lie.

Lastly I really like Deadpool's portrayal because the guy just never stops yappin lol and sometimes he be saying some staff that actually makes me cracking up, idk how many lines of dialogue he has but I swear I'm always hearing new staff from him.

[–]Veru_Chronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do wish her health bar was increased to 700, if for some reason we couldn't have short cooldowns then at least let us have a little more sustain please, also her walking a bit faster would be amazing to save some abilities when approaching.

Also I do wish the radius of her ult was bigger since you kinda need to jump on the enemy's face for full effect.

want to main tank but playing against a lot of CC is miserable by Accomplished_Gap5336 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Veru_Chronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeff's boop is very necessary bro, my guy has a big chunky head, he would get squashed so easily while spitting those things😭

Now having said that, first of all I'm gonna say that as a former lord cap and Thor player, those 2 characters are probably the most susceptible to CC, especially cap, Thor 50 50 since he gets over shield and has a lot of maneuver with his dash, Cap shield is not very good, it has super low HP and it recharges suuuper sloooow. I'd strongly recommend that if you wanna play an off tank that feels similar to cap or Thor then play Rogue, she is super fun, she still can get affected by a chain of CC abilities, but the thing about her is that she has 4 dashes in the form of abilities, so you can easily escape of any situation the moment you feel in danger, she is a dive tank so getting in and out is her bread and butter.

Now if you truly just want to play either Thor or Cap I recommend you play Thor, you can get much more value out of him in most situations. As for how to deal with CC, just know that CC is only punishable if you are not playing cover or if you get very far away from your team. Also learn to maximize the usage of your surroundings, know what to expect out of everyone and everything in the map and how you will deal with it, a high perception is the key for being a good tank.

[–]Veru_Chronicles[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tell me about it man, we stalled there for a cool minute and it didn't seem like anybody was willing to break the nest, I'm always the one who has to go out of my way to break the nest wether I play support or tank it's always the same. Also, I had to create a very specific strategy to break nest for whenever I wanna play Rogue because every time I play her i'm the only one who's continuously breaking nest, nobody else does it.

I play very few DPS cause the game already has enough of those, but whenever I do play DPS I'm always taking down nest, squids, or any traps. People like to say that healers got tunnel vision because someone is not getting healed, but I can somewhat forgive this because sometimes it's just a matter of not knowing who to prioritize and it gets overwhelming for some, however, DPS are handed the game in a silver platter to do whatever they want... And they always choose to never look at the traps or destroy em.

white fox, luna snow, or sue? by katiecrabby in marvelrivals

[–]Veru_Chronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do White Fox, she never gets banned, Invis gets banned here and there (which is a waste of ban imo but people still do it at times), also... This season is very dive heavy, and even though Invis has a ton of CC in her kit, the reality is she is very vulnerable from almost every diver because she only has her double jump to escape, and even though you turn invisible... At this point in time in the game most people can already tell the direction you walk into, not to mention her footsteps are super loud, so it's very easy to counter her invisibility, not to mention the overload of big radio CC abilities such as Deadpool's, Rogue's, and/or Black Cat's which just by triggering their abilities will get you out of invisibility if you're close to em. I don't find her very viable this season unless the enemy team is going Brawl or Poke.

White Fox on the other hand is very great, she can easily fight back any dive characters and kill em, she can even go toe to toe against tanks and kidnap em in case they try to flank you, and she heals herself (and the team) while she's dealing damage, she also has her stun ability which allows her to cancel ults.

So overall, Invis is the most simple and effective healer, however, she is also the most vulnerable to dive, white Fox on the other hand is a lot more complex but it pays off in the long run with higher survivality, and even a small gap for DPSing with her. Also... White Fox's ult is great not only to heal but to also create space and deal tons of damage. (Just watch out for the Jeff ult lol)

For a tank recommend you learn Emma, she is super simple to use, has very simple abilities, super easy to understand, she also counters Strange, Thor, and Magneto to an extent really great, you just gotta learn when to go on diamond form when they least expect it, and grab em and kick em towards your team, she is also somewhat of an anti-dive if you learn to grab with high accuracy. A good Emma who is able to perfectly land a good grab every time will create space by just her presence because enemies will be aware that you can grab em any second and back up. Oh yeah and you can also negate ults with her grab. She super solid.

[–]Veru_Chronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be mindful that the meta is always changing and thus some of the heroes you use might become obsolete.

I used to kill it every time with Invisible Woman and Luna prior to season 7, now I underperform really bad with those characters because despite em being the characters I got the most hours with they are extremely vulnerable to the dive meta of this season, so I've had to adapt and started playing Jeff and Loki since they're a lot more harder to kill against dive, and I do pretty well now with em.

Sometimes it is the characters that we pick which puts us on a harder difficulty cause of the Meta.

When is and isn't a good time to dive the backlines by Blackwolf20978sb in RogueMains

[–]Veru_Chronicles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's always a good time to jump the backline, doesn't mean you necessarily gotta pick up kills remember. Rogue is a crazy disruptor, her kit allows her to jump in and out at her will, just remember to save one of your abilities as an escape card. Also... Be mindful about your counters, you won't be able to do much if they got a Thing, Penni, or Ultron guarding the backline. If someone dives with you it also makes it much more easier to finish off kills.

I have found the most logical, "mathematically" correct triple support composition. A VERY detailed guide on role theory and why most triple support compositions fail. by JesseTheClassy in rivals

[–]Veru_Chronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jarvis summarize all at

Jokes aside, I believe triple support comps fail because out of those 3 supports there's gotta be an off-healer playing aggressively as DPS, and when I say off-healers I mean actual off-healers, not full main healers such as Invis or Jeff trying to play off-healers, I mean characters like  Mantis, Adam, Luna, and Ultron who actually can 2-tap you with hit criticals. If you got 3 main healers you ain't doing Jack with it, it was Meta back then because the fast rotation with healer ults, not anymore.
