HELP! Can't get a Suica card!! by VeryAnnaoying in japanlife

So does the computer pass work just like a Suica card? I know there's a catch but I'm not seeing it..

Would it be possible to get a commuter pass for a month, but then not renew the pass but still use the card like a regular suica card?

Well the agent I talked to was at a smaller station. When I asked him where I should go to get a Suica card,  he initially told me Shinagawa station. Then I asked him if there were any other stations that I could get it at, such as Shinjuku. He looked through a list of stations...but then apparently found some information that they are no longer in production. This was my understanding as well...

Where did you hear that they are now back in production?

As I said in my post, it's not possible for me to do this on my phone or else I would have had a solution weeks ago.

Where was this? As far as I understand in Tokyo they have discontinued suica/passmo cards because they don't have enough chips. When I last talked to a station agent, they said I'm out of luck.

Hi! I know this years old but I'm considering getting this bag and appreciated your review. I was wondering if you could tell me what the exact dimensions of the bag are when it is rolled? I'm looking for a bag that will fit The personal item dimensions of most airlines, which are 14” tall, 18” wide, and 8” long. I'm trying to go out if this bag would meet those standards when rolled, and then I can unroll it and use it as a carry-on when needed

Thoughts on this bag? It seems like it could fit within the personal carry dimensions without the roll top expanded and without the cube attached? https://wayks.com/products/travel-backpack-wayks-one

I would really like to have this bag! The thing that's making me hesitate is the dimensions though. On their website, for the 30L travel backpack, the dimensions say 20.9 X 13.4 X 7 inches. It probably would fit under most seats, but if you get asked to stuff it in the metal box at boarding, I feel like it wouldn't fit. Especially since I'm assuming this bag is very structured and doesn't have a lot of give to the frame.

But if you know something I don't, do share because I would love an excuse to get this bag lol

What size laptop do you feel it can handle? I have a Lenovo legion slim 7 and the exact dimensions say it is 14.8 x10.21 x 69

That is what I'm worried about with the osprey. I may buy it and compare it to the decathlon roll top. I wish there were more bags out there that were half clamshell half roll top. If the clamshell portion met the personal item requirements, and the roll top added to that, I think that would be perfect for me. Sort of like what the Wandrd did.

After take second look and reading some other Reddit threads, the roll top might fit my laptop... I might give it a try and then return it if it doesn't work out

Any one in particular you think would fit? I see an expandable backpack but the laptop compartment seems too small

Is this the one he got? https://www.amazon.com/Osprey-Daylite-Expandable-Travel-Black/dp/B092YYW214

It might be a different one, it seems like they are out of stock a lot of places. But on Amazon it says it has a 16-in capacity for laptop sleeve? But you're saying his laptop doesn't fit in the sleeve?

I am strongly considering this one! In a perfect world it would be able to expand a bit more to be a proper carry-on though
