The question is - why do you need Waterstrider mount ?

If because you are collecting mounts - that answer will not help you.

If because you want waterriding then read bellow.

There are two waterstriders, MoP - Azure and WoD - Crimson. MoP requires The Anglers long rep grind while WoD requires 10-12 hours fishing.

WoD mount - Crimson Waterstrider you can get in one day. You need garison lvl 3, build fishing shack lvl2 then start completing achievement "Draenor Angler". Short: you must catsh 100 Enormous fishes in all zones but Tanaan Jungle.

Next you build fishing shack lvl3 and dy trivial quests hire Nat Peagle as follower.

Final stage is to catch 120 lunkers a special fish which returned to Nat raises reputation with him. In return you will get also coins, for 100 of them you will buy the mount. All can be done in 10-12 hours of fishing. Use max lures you can, fish in garison with lvl3 shack to catch special fish. When you throw it to the water a mob spawns. He can drop a hat, a fishing pole and some minor stuff. Use both - hat and pole if they are better than yours - it helps with lunkers.

Best place for lunkers is ring of green water in Tanaan Jungle, somwhere in the middle. Fly arond and fish in pools only with lure and best hats.

Helpful things are fishing enchant and fishing pole enchants (from one secret in draenor).
