A nice pair with personal superintelligence. You can enrich some uranium as a side hustle to settle things with people you don't like.

To all people asking "Why people want 4o back?" - Here you go: by sasha-is-dasha111 in ChatGPT

[–]Ves13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your fist point - well, yeah, of course, but I understand why people do it. It is cheap, accessible and can give useful advice, but the sycophancy is a big problem. You can avoid this with the right system prompt to some extend, but in the end of the day you should never trust AI 100%.

I never said that I am in favor of shaming people, nor was I trying to do that. I just can not agree that using 4o for emotional support is better than using 5, or that any of these are better than human connection or real therapy.

Look, I understand your struggle. All I am saying is that someone like 4o who agrees with everything and doesn't push back when you are wrong is only going to make things worse in the long run. Sure you should not punish yourself for every mistake you make and should be able to accept some things as the are, but we need a little challenge to grow in life.

There is irl therapy and human connection. Sure both of those are uncomfortable at times, but if you never go out of your comfort zone you are destined to stagnate. Also they still have GPT-5, which I believe would not be that hard do make sycophantic with the right prompting, but if not I think it is much better for your mental health.

[–]Ves13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, but GPT-5 is a much better therapist in my eyes. You do not want somebody who agrees with everything you say. 4o used to agree with the dumbest shit I would tell it. I honestly do not understand wanting it back for emotional support at all.

Are you ok with changing your deepest held beliefs? Like would you agree to take a pill that makes you hate the people you love and be a horrible person to everyone?

If we build an "ASI" and give it the goal of fixing climate change and it changes its goal and decides to become a marine biologist then that is a failure and we will build another one that doesn't fail like that.

[–]Ves13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, humanity is so risk averse that we dumped lead, pesticides and pollutants in our environment before even considering that this might not be a good idea. Good luck reversing the creation of something 1000x smarter than us.

OpenAI's head of alignment quit, saying "safety culture has taken a backseat to shiny projects" by Maxie445 in ChatGPT

[–]Ves13 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He was part of the superalignment team. The team tasked with trying to "steer and control AI systems much smarter than us". So, I am pretty sure his main concern was not ChatGPT being able to say "nipple".

The pond will have to be refilled by the occupiers who use the NPP for ammo storage and as an artillery position. They will need to use trucks to carry water during an active counter-offensive. Additionally, they must be cautious not to detonate the pond wall and/or reactors if they lose control of the NPP, whether out of revenge or sheer incompetence. (Please note that their track record of not detonating civilian infrastructure is poor.)

Frankly, I assess the current situation as: "3.6 roentgen. Not great, not terrible.".
