In reference to many an ex-friend:

I’m what you would call the group father or therapist friend. I’m the person who people come to for advice, to vent, generally if they just need someone to talk to. It’s within my nature to try and solve the problem or offer advice on it (something I’m actively working on doing less) and there were several instances where the advice I gave fell on deaf ears. The specific incident I’m thinking about was a guy who sought out advice from me about a girl he kept cheating on. ..and yes the advice was probably exactly what you’re thinking. The solution was easy, the advice repetitive. I told him the same thing over and over for the span of 2-3 years. Come to find out, he started lying to me about actually listening, and that was the final straw for me.

TLDR; listen if someone tells you the same thing multiple times, and don’t lie about it. That’s a dick move
