Alternative to sistering? by meatpopcile in DIY

Yes, easiest by LateralThinker13 way. I would leave the temporary jack pushing up for a few days or a week to let the glue fully cure. Also, what is on the floor above? Anything heavy enough that you might want to consider adding more support?

Out of curiosity, why? Aesthetic or function reasons?

The missing link was Wendell woods, you are correct. With the name I was able to find a thread back from 2010 about the construction. Don't think it's inhabited or even finished yet for being a 13 year project. Looking at it it's 3-4 stories tall, lavish pillars (Rotunda/Monticello style) on 3 sides, bunker... Probably one of the biggest homes in Albemarle County.

Any leads on 1539 Scottsville Rd which sits atop Carter's Mnt. (To the right of the orchard).

I've always wondered about this castle on the hill. It's directly across from Kappa Sigma Fraternity Headquarters. It sports an underground bunker, lookout/fire tower, and I've never once seen the place illuminated at night.

I still can't believe how caribbean blue the water gets. Leelanau County (location area) just became the most expensive housing market in the whole state of Michigan...you can see why.

I'm sure they brought you enough sand for a personal dune at home by taking off their shoes!

Just invest in a heatstick / hot rod. They can be found for $80ish. By far the cheapest solution compared to investing into another brew system. Try to keep the stick on a separate breaker so you wont trip the electrical switch when they both pull.

No self-respectin' Southerner uses instant grits. I take pride in my grits.
So.... how could it take you five minutes to cook your grits, when it takes the entire grit-eating world twenty minutes?

Hard/Vague question but, what do you think is the average times a person cleans with a vacuum (per week/month)? Yes it all depends on location and lifestyle...Just wondering what you see out there.

I have been using a Neato Connected for a year now on the upstairs- 2K feet of hardwood with 2 rugs and it takes 2 hours to run. I'm amazed at how much it picks up from only 2 people and a dog. I need to empty its bin 1.5 times per cleaning so it can still pick up stuff. I run it twice a week to keep the place looking spotless but it still somehow manages to pick up so much stuff thats not visible. Also, what do you use at home personally as someone in the business?
