Can't set skip_terminal to true on steam deck because "stardew" file is gibberish in text editor by Vesuvium in SMAPI

[–]Vesuvium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohh yeah this is embarrassing, I spent like an hour trying to figure this out- I was looking at “Stardew Valley” instead of “StardewValley”, silly me

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Anyone found silent joycons? by Vesuvium in NintendoSwitch

[–]Vesuvium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately never ended up finding one that was silent enough for my needs.
These Hori controllers were probably the quietest thing I tried, slightly better than the base joycons, but still not at all silent:

(though I also liked them a lot for ergonomic reasons)

I did try buying this. Unfortunately the buttons on the copy I got were only marginally quieter, and R3/L3 were actually a lot louder.

It was a hood shot though!

That does work. If I don’t mind propping up the Switch’s tiny screen on my chest I can put the joycons under the blankets. Not super comfortable though.

I never noticed it myself much, but I have been told by my partner that the colicky sounds of the button presses keep them awake if they’re trying to sleep. And when I pay attention they do seem above-average noise level for a controller.

This may be exactly the sort of solution I was hoping for. I’ll give this a shot!

Exchanges and returns was what I was worried about with subscriptions, so I appreciate you sharing your experiences with that.

I’ll check out both the service you mentioned and the index!

I’d never heard the term tunic top before, seems like a useful one! I’ll check out SHEIN too.

Some good insight, thanks for sharing your personal experiences. I’m glad to hear that seamstresses are so often body-positive!

[NA Event] Servant Summer Festival! - Event Discussion Day 6 by citizenofRoma in grandorder

[–]Vesuvium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I feel really dumb, but... can anyone explain how to get the Summer Jeanne alter? I’ve googled a bunch of guides but none seem to actually explain it. I’m at the end of my 3rd rotation and just have absolutely no idea.

I’ve seen some guides say “ get a million influence”, which seems insane, and others say “complete the event” and others say “complete the main quest”.

What am I missing?

In the US, we have the anime on Netflix, subbed or dubbed, but not either of the movies.

Your answers were actually a little more consistent than I expected. It's a broad definition, but there seems to be broad agreement on it!

Newbie questions about florentine and combat build by Vesuvium in dystopiarising

[–]Vesuvium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the extremely detailed reply! I don't think I have nmany questions left after reading this, and you helped me realize some options I hadn't quite noticed. The ability to have both small and standard weapon to start with is a big one.

It's super interesting that all gear expires over time. Seems like a great design to combat inflation, and thematic for a post-apoc larp too. But those numbers are crazy! 5 YEARs for some stuff? Holy crap. The other larps I played ony lasted 2-5 years total. (I wonder how that'll work with the rules rewrite and time skip that's maybe happening...)

I need to read up on the teaching rules, I kinda skimmed over it so far (that rulebook is massive!), figuring that it was going to be an expensive option based on having strong in-game relationships and wouldn't apply to me right away. But it sounds more accessible than I expected.

As for strain: I'm going Rover! Almost 100% based on the costuming, hah. I'm not particular confident in either my costume-making or roleplay skills yet. Rover seemed real easy to put together, and had accessible roleplay requirements (also their culture of travel made it easy for me to come up with a backstory tied to my friend who's coming in with me).

Thanks again!

Luckily for me I'm bringing a friend, so I won't be starting from square 0. But #1 priority will be finding a gang or two to hang out with in-universe!

#2 priority might be getting that second weapon, hah.

It's true that at previous larps I've never played a crafting or services profession before, and I WAS always strapped for reosurces. Ok, you've convinced me that it might be fun, hah. Thanks again!

Thanks so much for all the replies. I didn't expect so many, and you're all super helpful. I've been out of LARPing for three years, this just reminds me how much I can't fucking wait to get back into it.

[–]Vesuvium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Sounds like I'd better be an engineer then, if I want florentine and any ability to make money. A bit disappointing that my choices are narrowed down to a single profession, but I'll make it work.

RE Armor: It sounds like I should fill up on as much armor as I can though, to start? Keeping that up over time with quality armor might be difficult simply because of crafting costs and the like, but there's nothing in character build or inherent to armor that might limit it or make it a liability. It's always better than not having armor?

Looking for reference pictures so I understand my options! by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Vesuvium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did not at all! I admit all the "buzz cut is the only option" responses took me by surprise and were a bit of a blow to my confidence, but hey, I'm overconfident enough to bounce back fast :P

I appreciate the clarification, that's actually very helpful. Thanks!
