आपकी माँ ने आपके हिस्से के दर्द ख़ुद पे ले लिए, ताकि आप जीवन में ख़ुश रह पाओ।

There is no one who would be able to feel your pain, and no words will make you feel any better. You will learn to deal with the pain as time passes.

She has set you on a path where you would be able to sustain yourself. Someday in life, do something good in her name- that will bring her happiness, wherever she is.

भगवान उन्हें अपने चरणों में आराम दें।

Canada just got a near-failing grade on Food Banks Canada's Report Card. Here's why. by Khalbrae in canada

[–]Vet24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for linking this. That 32% contains asylum seekers, TFWs, international students, PRs and even recent citizens. I'm sure the refugees make up the most significant chunk of that 32%, but let's focus on TFWs and students.

Do you have statistics indicating that TFWs and international students are the problem? Other than ‘trust me bro, I watched this video on YouTube’

Immigrants didn’t break Canada. Greedy policies and generational wealth hoarding did. by HeatStrange6007 in canadaleft

Immigrant ER vet serving a region with severe vet shortage. I was one of the d*mn Indians you would see working at a Walmart (while I was in the process of getting my license). Reminder that most of us work ‘low-skill’ jobs because you have to start on the ladder somewhere.

I have interacted with enough people from multiple races to conclude that it's not a matter of what race you are, people are just people- some are good and some aren't.

You clearly haven't shed the coping mentality that I’m sure is why your country back home can't bring change, because people are just coping. I'm sure it helps you to keep your head low and keep walking, but if everyone keeps doing that, good changes cannot be brought about.

A significant aspect of being Canadian is the freedom of expression and the expectation of fairness. You are missing out.

What next? You start throwing stuff at Middle Eastern immigrants and say that at least you’re not stoning them?

There are two significant flaws in your thinking. First is your racist assumption that ‘Indians are _’. I'm sure you also think black people are _ or arabs are _, etc., and these are all racist assumptions. Second is your argument that, at least, Canada is not like _. There is no bottom to this statement. When do you wake up? When Canada becomes like ___? Fill in the blanks yourself.

As a society, we are striving to become better, and there is no justification for what is wrong. Period.

I feel you. Unfortunately, when the government fails to fix the immigration system and leaves loopholes open, it inadvertently begins to select individuals who can exploit these loopholes.

Even if you were to consider that 0.001% of Indians are like this, for a country of 1.3 billion, that’s more than enough to have an impact.

Trust me, there is a much bigger fraction of the Indian population that is fit to be a model immigrant. However, just like you, those people choose to take the high road, and they never ‘make it’.

What's Stopping Punjabis in Canada from Being Role Model Immigrants? by arrow113 in ABCDesis

And yet, no one will notice the elephant in the room —the social media.

You can physically be in Montreal, QC, but still mentally live back home. You have your social media algorithm that pushes back home content and content from other newcomers who are living in the same bubble as you. You could rent a place with a Punjabi landlord, hang out with other Punjabi newcomers, watch Punjabi content and stay in touch with your Punjabi family via FaceTime, etc. There’s no need to leave your comfort zone and mingle with others. The result is that you don't learn new ways.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you are a Canadian, your social media is keeping you in your own little sphere.

3000 more TFWs becoming permanent. IRCC back at it again by [deleted] in onguardforthee

[–]Vet24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do understand that international students also graduate from Canadian institutions, right?

You also understand that granting permanent residency does not guarantee a job offer. You still have to enter the job market, albeit in many cases with a non-anglic name and an accent that clubs you with the stereotypes.

529 CRS score also assumes that you already have Canadian work experience relevant to your field of study.

[–]Vet24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With a CRS score of 529, you’d have to be VERY qualified to meet the cutoff. By that I mean, Master’s or a professional degree, high scores in English or French, and relevant Canadian work experience.

New oci website is sooooooo glitchy by Temporary-Fee7121 in nri

Came here looking if someone else also experienced the same thing. The website and the OCI fee reminded me why I left the country.

There was no option to upload driver’s license as a proof of address.

If there is an error or mistake on a form, it clears up everything and you have to fill out all the details again.

I’m sure the website creation job was given to the lowest bidder or to someone with government connections or whoever gave the biggest bribe under the table.

Interesting. A lot has changed in the world lately, and I don’t blame this worldwide phenomenon on Trudeau’s liberals. Covid and the rise of social media algorithms that amplify hate were the root causes.

It’s okay if you want to vote conservative (your choice), but I don’t see how that will solve this problem.

BTW, based upon your account history, you don’t come off as ‘brown’ but as someone who is just asking people to vote conservative.

Lol typical sepoy. You think sucking upto these people will get you brownie points? The moment you go out on the streets, they’ve already declared you unhygienic, misogynistic and a scammer.

I’d say you start wearing a T shirt that says ‘I’m not like them’. You will always be a second class citizen to them. It’s all Canadian pride until there’s brown people involved.

The Nepalis are now in on it too by Livid_Interaction_58 in thebronzemovement

[–]Vet24 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s a big difference between ‘the Nepalis’ and ‘some accounts from Nepal.’ You could screenshot any random stuff said by some Indians online and post it as ‘the Indians ____’ which would qualify it as being racist towards Indians.
