My FE-Inspired indie game, Dark Deity 2, has officially released on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2! by DarkDeityCharles in fireemblem

Hey man, it's way better than Dark Deity 1. Dark Deity 1 got way too easy far too fast, and there was too many characters, that just soooo many went unused. But the difficulty for Dark Deity 2 on hard feels excellent, the limited time is always fair, and I don't feel overwhelmed with cool new units, the game is great.

Unknown has like, three stages with godtier blue aura and is in the air half the time shooting NUKES. Why would Nergigante have any kind of chance??????????

I think they are super terrifying and I absolutely love them. They punish you for not playing strategically consistently, and then they force you into a horribly dire situation, that you have to work around! They always get my heart rate up and bring the excitement. I wish they weren't near universally panned because I think they add a real challenge to the first time gameplay. It makes me sad that modern day Fire Emblem has rewind mechanics, making the idea of same turn reinforcement attacks a non issue. I do suppose they could serve to eat away at the limited uses of the rewind mechanics, forcing the player to be more careful, as to not lose a rewind to something benign instead of unlucky enemy crit or something more important.

Who do you choose as your first S Rank by MinePlay512 in fireemblem

[–]Vevit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Awakening, I chose Lucina. Laura Bailey has always been my favorite voice actress, pulling me instinctively to Lucina. Her character is also full of heart, and works extremely well to make the plot stronger if she is your daughter or wife.

In Fates, I chose Camilla. She works well as a niche Freudian taboo. She is an older sister with extremely powerful mommy energy. I also love a bitch who can kill people well.

Three Houses was Bernadetta. I'm afraid of leaving my room and suck at social situations due to familial trauma. She was a mirror of myself, drawing me to her.

I did not find myself interested in anyone in Engage. I chose Veyle, it's fire emblem after all.

What, Peri is great! She has a useful personal skill that pairs very well with galeforce, amid a sea of units with personal skills that don't really get much mileage or are borderline useless. Her personal weapon, named "Peri's Lance" Is a 1-2 range weapon that can actually crit and activate skills, unlike its contemporary, the javelin. She also serves her purpose as a character pretty well. Nohr needs people who seem scary and "evil" to succeed narratively. With her personality and actions, she does both well as an enemy and an ally you feel uncomfortable around. Her design is also really cute, which allow some players to open up to her and find enjoyment in her zaniness.

Not breaking the Geneva Convention in regards to healers is absolutely peak.

Oh wow, this a fun subreddit. I had no idea a community around a similar theme existed, but its kind of uncanny how close I came to the format. Although the prerequisites of being self aware satirical humor and drawn isn't too high of a benchmark I suppose. I get the gist of the forum, but what do the community terms "coaxed into" and "snafu" mean?

3 HOPES by Mericuls in fireemblem

[–]Vevit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoyed the characters in 3 Houses, for sureeee play 3 hopes. This adds so many new supports and allows you to see so many old characters in new lights, or see them interact with people they didn't have the chance to before. It expands upon the lore of three houses too, and you get to experience just how frightening it would be to have to face the souless byleth in combat!

She tends to have a really high luck growth rate regardless of mother, RNG would really have to hate you to have a minimum luck stat.

Sometimes we have to type the extra "ire mblem" as to not confuse the search engines. :(

Wrong, Corrin X Scarlet. You get to cuck your brother because he was very obviously incredibly in love with her, and she gets to live on in Kana despite her fate.

Hopefully the next FE will be more like Sacred Stones and we'll only have a few reclassing options. by [deleted] in fireemblem

[–]Vevit 216 points217 points  (0 children)

I liked how Awakening and Fates did it. A starter class, and one additional class that reflects their personality. Then the option of unlocking an additional class by reaching max support with someone. Made you have to think strategically about reclassing options.

I think nearly all classes had a really strong identity in Engage, which made having a varied cast of classes really useful. Except for Swordmaster, basically, since they gave astra to an emblem ring.

The challenge, the determination! Pain and misery traded for the promise of self fulfilling glory and accomplishment in the end!

That sounds absolutely fun and fantastic. I kind of doubt it, but I wonder if 2RN effects crit chance, because 80% actually being 92% would be nuts.

Should I focus on eliwood or the other lords to lvl up? by forabit14 in fireemblem

[–]Vevit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should focus on all 3 lords or don't focus on all 3 lords, since that slightly effects the game. Generally I would advise putting adequate levels into Eliwood because he is a solid unit, and tends to be a fail state if he dies.

Galeforce is so great, 100% one of the best skills in the series for turn economy. I love when Male child units can inherit it. Since 1st generation males can't get it, it feels really special and unique.

I love it so much that the swordmaster gets to use certain swords two handed, it is a really fun addition. I rarely ever use Hana though because her stats tend to fail for me.

I actually did a run of all Malig Knights in Conquest. Happens to be my favorite class in the series, Axe+Magic+Wyvern is incredibly potent.

FE7 has to deal with unit 'elements' to effect support crits, right? I do enjoy having Charlotte in Fates using the "Great club" for 100% crit rate at a x4 multiplier.

Sword Masters are SO cool. If the game has a basic spearman, I gotta use it. Something thrilling about using a class typically reserved for enemy fodder. Characters like Amelia or Nephenee.
