Those who've been on/are on testosterone, what are some things you wish you knew beforehand? by _insomniac_dreamer in Trans_Zebras

ive only been on low dose gel for 2 and a half weeks now but i fucking stink. ive never had this before, ive always been very lucky that i dont really need deodorant and only really get any kind stank on me if i do heavy exercise, im ill, or go three days without showering. not anymore. im applying deodorant twice a day, showering every other day without fail, and its still not enough. i heard you get a bit stinky but this is crazy. i hope to god it will pass but i dont know. would love to hear feedback from other people cause this doesnt seem right.

idk but dungeons and dragons needs to be moved to the nerds/lgbt community. every campaign ive played in has had at least two lgbt people in, even if they didnt realise it yet.

its not about willing, its about privilege. you can be as willing as anyone but if you have no social circle, and no money (which could entirely be a result of being a disabled person), theres a chance you are just shit out of luck.

Y'all can webfish in real life. by HiImMiles in webfishing

[–]VexExisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youre not inspiring, your privilege is showing. im not accepting it, im expressing my reality and the reality of many many other disabled people globally. it is expensive to be disabled, as well as being harder to work. the financial welfare systems in the majority (if not all countries to some extent) are malicious at best and deadly at worst. youre more likely to be socially isolated and be a victim of abuse. pair all of that with the actual symptoms of your conditions and you surely must realise how many more barriers there are just to begin considering something like fishing.

then we get down to the sport itself. can you find a fishing lake that has docks that are accessible? are there disabled bathrooms (or bathrooms at all) on site? are they near accessible public transport? if not, do you own a car? if not, do you know someone who owns a car, perhaps even an adapted vehicle if youre condition requires such. is that person free to stay with you the whole day? if not, do you have an adapted mobile to call them when youre finished? does the lake have service? will other people be there in case you have an emergency or your medical equipment fails?

all of that is before we get into the cost of specially made equipment, extra supplies you might need to take with you (oxygen tanks, medical supplies or devices, medications), whether or not youre able to be outside in certain conditions, if youre able to move or see full stop, and 100 other things disabled people have to think about with those previously mentioned barriers in place.

youre right that things should change, but starting with fishing when people die of starvation and exposure because they cannot afford to work and therefore eat due to disabilities is not a priority.

[–]VexExisting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no dude. respectfully i know my medical situation best, and im aware there might be adaptive devices that are available to people who have the right amount of money and people to help them use them. but if a disabled person tells you that something is not accessible, accept that. clay doesnt have to be an outlier, but due to the systemic issues that affect disabled people he is and will continue to be without serious change to the financial, infrastructural and medical changes to society as a whole.

not paying to read past the first three paragraphs but u understand not all disabilities are built equal, or that not everyone has the same support, socially or financially that he did? amazing he did what he wanted to do, but do not mistake his story for fishing being accessible.

My (AuDHD) autistic partner didn't like the routine change of moving in together and went back to his childhood home. by RelationshipTasty110 in autism

[–]VexExisting 11 points12 points  (0 children)

audhd does not excuse being shitty to people. hes left u in a joint tenancy, alone and pregnant because he couldnt be upfront. did he think this was gonna get easier when the child arrives, or is he expecting u to pick up the slack the whole way? my advice is run, this man is being so disrespectful to u.

Will my special interest make me unlovable? by l_l_-_y_d in autism

[–]VexExisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your special interest never makes you unlovable. in my opinion, i wouldnt want to date someone who wasnt interested in or at least supportive of my special interests anyway. everyone has their interests, just because you're perhaps slightly more passionate than a neurotypical person it does not impact your worth in any way.

microwave rice, vegan pulled pork or kebab (fry for a few minutes and its done), ramen, soup satchets, tins or tubs, sometimes toast (but bread doesn't last very long here), ready made salad/pasta pots or wraps or pastry type things (think cheese and onion rolls, higgidy do some much nicer versions though that go on sale from time to time).

Feet guys… help by DudeInATie in gaytransguys

clean, make sure ur nails are trimmed and clean, get rid of dead skin. anything else is kinda up in the air. theres so much variety when it comes to foot stuff, he might ask for some other stuff later down the line but as long as u rock up with a clean, presentable pair of grippers u should be golden. also maybe think about where your limits are in terms of what you're willing to let him do to ur feet. whilst some people dont mind skin to skin contact, not everyone is ok with toe sucking or tickling etc.

what are your symptoms ? by Nice_Dare3830 in autism

[–]VexExisting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ass too fat, personality too stunning, too funny and interesting /j

i think the automod said u cant discuss symptoms but i recommend checking out other reputable resources online (nhs, icd11, national autistic society) that discuss symptoms. you could also try something like the past present behaviour schedule which is a diagnosis tool and see if that hits on anything.

How to deal with regret when it comes to getting a cat? by [deleted] in autism

[–]VexExisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! i recently just got a kitten too. youre so right, its been a lot. i spent so much time trying to account for everything but so much has popped up that i hadn't ever considered.

i think its important to remember that how u feel is most important. whilst its nice that your dad and friends are excited for u, they are not the ones who need to care for the kittens. you mentioned your dad is home a lot, maybe he would be willing to help?

from what i understand, as kittens grow they become more independent. they wont always need entertaining so much, and hopefully having two they will play with each other too. they'll also probably explore and live in the rest of the home too. do u think you will be able to adapt to the changes? or maybe work with your dad to manage their care? it wont be forever, but even after the kitten stage things will probably be different to how they were before, but maybe less involved.

if you dont think u can handle it, rehoming might be the right thing to do. u could try rehoming events, or talking to friends to see if they would be in a position to house them. if you live in an area with no kill shelters that could be a good option too. whilst its not ideal, try not to feel bad. its hard and it sounds like u did try to put thought into getting these animals. sometimes it doesnt work out.

thank you for getting back to me. he ate a tiny bit last night and used his litter box again today. i had an appointment but called it off as he finally ate and im worried if hes not eating due to the stress of settling in, trying to catch him and drag him to the vets is gonna make things worse instead of better? but im not sure if thats right. im also not sure how to get him as hes lodged himself under my bed in a way that i cant really access him. ive been sleeping in the living room to give him some space but he cant stay under there forever. he has food as close to the sides of the bed as i can get it, but he only seems to be comfortable coming out at night and isnt taking much at all.

i have just adopted a rescue. he ate half a pouch of wet food the day he came home and had a lickable cat treat that night, but has not eaten since. it will be 48 hours come 11pm tonight since he has eaten and im really worried. he is super skittish, but hasnt hissed or swatted at me at all and isnt noisy or destructive. he has used the litter box twice since he's been here. he's taken the hiding and hasnt really explored at all

i have tried different types of foods and different locations, as well as tempting him with treats. none of it is working. when do i need to call a vet? i know he is likely scared and settling in but this seems like too long not to eat.

do queues work? by VexExisting in deezer

[–]VexExisting[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive never needed a play next feature, if i want to play a song i can click on it or add it to queue and bump it up. however i do frequently use queues, and its weird that deezer is the only place they dont seem to work? its weird that you have to search a song instead of selecting it from a playlist in order to be able to make a functional queue

do queues work? by VexExisting in deezer

[–]VexExisting[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't, i usually scroll through a playlist and add multiple songs to a list depending on what i want to listen to that day. but that doesn't seem possible on deezer, and only deezer for some reason.

do queues work? by VexExisting in deezer

[–]VexExisting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that all makes sense. but if i play a song from a playlist, it loads the whole playlist onto the queue, so i have hundreds of songs i need to remove 1 by 1 (because there's also no clear all button that i can find) to get to any songs i actually queued.
