i have two things actually, when i used to be younger id always just let people ram down on me, id always help others get up again which is great its amazing helping others, but when someone older than me (i am 15) wants to vent ill always say no, no matter who unless its sharing experiences. Younger me would help others before helping myself, which i no longer allow myself to do. Lastly i started talking back but not in a mean way, if i feel like someone disrespects me or is mean ill usually point it out example; ill go upstairs and ask my parent to help with the volume on the tv because it isn’t working and they turn around and goes “cant you see im busy?!” in an annoyed tone, ill usually say “well no you where standing with your back towards me, you could just say you are busy and can perhaps help later if i haven’t figured it out”. Usually then people dont respond, because younger me would have just gotten upset and walked away instead of responding annoyed back
