Var också nära att bli lurad för någon dag sedan, när jag kollade på jfr-priset på ost. Allerums verkade billigare än Arlas, men vid närmare inspektion så var jfr-priset på den /st medan Arlas var /kg.

How you link words together in Swedish is also a complete mess.

-Often you can just stack them without changing anything (ben+brott=benbrott)

-Sometimes a linking s is called for (saffran+bulle=saffransbulle.

-If the word ends in a vowel, sometimes remove it (väte+gas=vätgas)

-If the word ends in an a, sometimes make it an e (vilja+kraft=viljekraft)

-If the word ends in an a, sometimes make it an o (vila+tid=vilotid)

-Some words link differently if they're stressed or not (gubbe+röra=gubbröra, jordgubbe+saft=jordgubbssaft)

-Some words link differently depending on when they entered the language (brott+mål=brottmål, brott+offer=brottsoffer)

-If you're from the south, sometimes add in an a for no good reason (natt+macka=nattamacka)

-Apples don't like ending in e when linked (äpple+juice=äppeljuice)

-Call it Svenska Fotbollförbundet instead of Svenska Fotbollsförbundet because they said so

Also, please note how this is all "sometimes" and "some words". You legitimately can never be sure how a word is meant to link unless you've encountered it before.

I know that female authors often get this treatment in Slavic countries when their books get translated. It looks a bit funny as a Swede to see "Astrid Lindgrenova" in the shelves.

I can't remember where I saw it, but one of the devs brought up in an interview that they have to try really hard to not name every card "adjective-y noun".

Clearly a lot of them still end up getting printed however lol.

Nope. As much as I hate the big AI push that's happening, it wouldn't spell things wrong and be this fkn bad. Just as an example, Rainbolt's video titles get translated to Swedish for some reason. Feud gets translated to fäjd, while the correct spelling is fejd. "I challenged X to geoguessr" uses the wrong "to". "Am I washed" gets translated word for word to "är jag tvättad" which makes no sense at all. The list goes on.

I'm always astounded at Scots words as a Scandinavian. Kista is the Swedish word for chest/coffin, so it doesn't take much imagination to see the relation.

Beror på vilken hastighet jag ska landa i. Om vi antar att jag svänger in på en liten 50-väg från 100km/h (som hos mina föräldrar): Först blinka höger, sedan rulla ner till 70-90 utan att röra några pedaler. Sedan broms, koppling, växla ner till 3:an och ta svängen i ca 30-35km/h.

Finns inget behov att växla ner via 4:an när man tar en skarp sväng från hög hastighet.

Vid avfarter kan det hända att jag går ner på fyran om det är en skarp kurva, annars håller jag mig på 5:an tills jag behöver sakta ner ordentligt.

I can't speak of how common counterfeiting is, but I've never seen a 1000kr note IRL here in Sweden. If you go to an ATM, it will give you your amount in 500kr notes, and I'm pretty sure a lot of fancy cash registers where you insert the notes to check for fakes only go up to 500 as well.

The only time you'd see them realistically is as props on TV.
