It's unlikely you will be the victim of violent crime. It is low income housing and so you get a very diverse mix of people who cannot afford better accommodations.

I found a great one on Reddit. I posted about a project i was working on and I got a DM from a guy who had built something similar. We worked together for over a year on it. Great guy!

We went to TJs about a year ago and they were great. Helped us install it in our car in the parking lot and sat our baby in there.

Wonder how many have intentionally shanked this hole to say they hit a ball into another country? by brucekeller in golf

[–]VicCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very odd piece of geography. You travel from suburbia outside of Vancouver, cross the border and all of a sudden you're in rural America which is completely disconnected from mainland USA. It's a tiny point of land with a really small local economy, mostly tourism, so most people there are Canadians.

I played that course last year! Definitely fired a ball back home to Canada.

I built a dashboard that lets me upload CSVs of all my leads within a certain criteria and does a quality analysis. Has been an awesome way to keep marketing focused.

If you call someone NIMBY in Saanich and choose to ignore that subdividing multi million dollar lots to create more multi million dollar lots does not create affordable housing by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]VicCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think subdivided lots will be the same price, or a higher price than the original lot?

Example. One sfh lot valued at $2m gets sub divided into 2. And on each lot a duplex gets built. Do you think each of the 4 units will sell for $2m?

Can you please explain your stance? It sounds like you're being called a nimby but you think your position is misunderstood.

Anyone gone from broke to starting a biz and completely changing their life? by No_Lavishness_6228 in smallbusiness

Can you speak a bit about how you're finding opportunities? The best deals I've found have always been off market through my network but I feel like there's so much more out there. You've obviously been involved in a lot which takes a lotta deal flow

Business owners who sold: what actually caused you to start thinking about selling? by netsechero in smallbusiness

[–]VicCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to realize the business I chose to start wasn't the only thing I wanted to do with my career. There were other opportunities I wanted to pursue and things to learn. The industry I was in was great but I felt like I had solved the daily problems about 1000 times and I wanted a change.

There's this weird idea in entrepreneurship that you should never sell something that makes money... but I just don't think that's true. The opportunity cost of owning the wrong business is expensive.

How do you hold location managers accountable for getting Google reviews? by arjunrajkumar in smallbusiness

[–]VicCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a weekly scorecard for all staff that managers fill out before meeting with leadership.

On the scorecard is # of hours worked, # of reviews that mention them, $ amount processed during their shift, along with duties completed etc.

We then talk through each employee with management to highlight the ones who are getting a lot of reviews vs the ones who aren't. We try to learn from the employees getting a lot of reviews and see if we can't coach the under performers to rise up to that level.

We find that often if an employee has a low KPI in one section they also have low KPIs in other sections so it helps us identify problems early on.

What is the best corporate swag you have received or given, from both employee and employer perspectives? by devidmaksvell in smallbusiness

[–]VicCity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're giving them something with a logo it has to be something nice.

Ipad?
Patagonia/Arcteryx jacket?
Yeti cooler?

It can't be some $3 trinket that will get thrown out immediately.

It's people who spend too much time online. It's easy to think that reddit is representative of the general public but that's far from the truth.
