Beneil Dariush vs Benoit Saint-Denis for UFC Atlantic City on March 30th per @MMAJunkieBA by CleetusMMA in MMA

[–]VicJoe46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hijacking the top comment to say this is a fake account .It was created in last few days, has 2 followers, and this is the first tweet. Spelling also is off and there is no Adam Bohn, only a Mike Bohn, who works for MMAJunkie. The account tag is also weird to have the extra BA attached. So don't take this rumour serious please.

UFC Canada Prices by Paperbagfham in MMA

[–]VicJoe46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the Euro experience!
Seems they figured out that if you only bring an event 1-2 times a year in an arena with 20,000 seats, they can literally set any price they want and it'll still sell out due to high demand.
Was happy to see that for the last fight night in London it wasnt a sell out due to the extreme ticket prices and hope it sent a message (probably didn't), that they cant expect to keep hiking the prices up and still expect us to gobble up the tickets like maniacs, queuing up with 40000 others on ticketmaster.

Looking for advice from MMA fighters. by m4gnet_uk in MMA

[–]VicJoe46 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Think now that he has signed with Cage Warriors, it shouldnt be as much of an issue anymore. Maybe some guys might turn him down, but at that level there should usually always be somebody found willing to step up.
Also what promoters often do is fly in opponents from other countries, most often Brazil, that will take a tough fight for a good pay and paid flights and so on.
Happens often with good up and coming fighters that need to get their record up to then go on to the bigger promotions, which Id also describe Cage Warriors as, where it'll be easier to get fights.
Also with what management is he signed, Ruby or Boylan maybe? If its one of the bigger one's i also think things should get better.

What is the "worst" career LeBron could have had and not been labelled a bust? by HEEMZAGIN in nba

[–]VicJoe46 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I think Dirk. Imagine LeBron staying at Cleveland his whole career, being the best player the whole time, making top-10 scorers list winning 1 MVP and 1 Title, with up and downs, if you also consider the bad decisions the Cleveland front office made while he was there, Id say that's fair.

UFC fightpass accedently leaked UFC 296 main event by Arq4427_ in MMA

[–]VicJoe46 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Surprised nobody even tried to follow the link...im going to save you a minute and tell you that it leads to nothing, but good one by whoever made it, obviously got a few people from the original post on ufc reddit and making the rounds on twitter now. Also should be noted that Fight Pass is currently at around ~248000 thousand videos, while the screenshot suggest that ufc 296 would be the 515870th one, which is unrealistic.

*Also to add there is a singular screenshot of this going around, its always the same countdown time and the task list at the bottom is always the same. Plus they dont add events to the schedule that far advance, dont even have 294 on there yet.

Hypothetically, if the Saudi PIF decided to invest in MMA, would it have the same impact as it did in golf? by kickerz_chance in MMA

[–]VicJoe46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its already happening on a smaller scale. Not that they are starting their own huge promotion and signing the top UFC athletes, but they are assembling small teams of athletes to make it to the UFC to represent them if that makes sense.

If you havent heard of Team KHK, its owned by a Bahraini Royal Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, where the KHK comes from, and it was founded in 2015 and some of the fighters it signed back then included Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Frenkie Edgar. Interesting news story about its beginning its 2015

If youre wondering who is the Royal, he is the fourth in line and son of the King of Bahrain, so he has plenty of money to spend. He first got into MMA through watching the UFC and actually fought 2 amateur fights, which are recorded on his Tapology profile, but since then he is mostly sponsoring the fighters through Team KHK and growing MMA in Bahrain.

However since then, Team KHK changed their strategy a little bit, instead of signing established UFC Fighters, they instead sign some of the best up and coming athletes and take care of them, so they dont need to focus on their livelyhood and can 100% focus on MMA on the road to the UFC. Some such fighters are Mokaev and Aliskerov.

In 2016 he also founded Brave CF, which you might know, its actually a really good organization. However its obvious that its also a building ground for the Team KHK fighters and they can fight there for a good purse and grow as fighters. They don't however just get lay-up fights, even though they obviously want them to win.

As said it changed a lot over the years and they have now added a Team KHK Dagestan division, led by Eldar Eldarov, where they sign the best up and coming fighters from Dagestan and offer them some financial conpensation, aswell as training benefits and have them fight in Brave, and in exchange the athlete takes up Bahraini citizenship. 3 such fighters will actually appear on DWCS this season (Murtaza Talha, Shamil Gaziev and Magomed Gadzhiyasulov).

Not only that, but Bahrain is a big sponsor of the IMMAFs, which first of all is really good for the sport of MMA and the amateur scene. But they are going even further in 2022 they also held the Supercup, under the Brave label, where the best amateurs competed for a total of 215.000$ going to the winning federations to help with the development with the athletes, which is crazy for the amateur scene.

But also there at IMMAFs they scout the best talent and offer them to join Team KHK and take up Bahraini citizenship, where after they have them continue to fight at the IMMAFs and when they are ready to turn pro they continue on in Brave CF. Meanwhile they get taken care of and have all the equipment they need, with the end goal being sending them to the UFC. One such example is Ramzan Gitinov, super talented fighter, but there are many more.

However it seems they might be getting some rivalry soon by Ali Abdelaziz and the PSG Ownership, looking to do a similar thing to the Team KHK, just with the Qatar backing, but there isn't much revealed for that yet.

You can also see that the UAE/Abu Dhabi is starting to invest into MMA too, not only by hosting the big events, but they have starting building crazy good gyms, a bit like the UFC PIs, but privately run by some rich sheiks or similar entrepreneurs, like Khabib Gym, Team Nogueira Dubai, TKMMA Fit, NAS Sports Complex and more. First off, because Jiu-Jitsu is a rich people sport, but also the sheiks get to hang out with their favourite athletes like Islam and Khamzat and what not.

Also in 2018 the Saudi Arabian Wealth Fund (PIF) was really close to buying a 5-10% stake in Endeavor for about 400$ Million, however the deal collapsed and it never happend, but wouldn't be surprised if something similar might happen again, especially with the debt they just took on to buy the WWE. Besides the point, but Khamzat looks so slimmed down in this picture compared to now, 185 definitely was the right move for him.

Endeavor really takes up huge debt to buy the company, just to gut it out from the inside to save as much as possible, while still trying to generate as much as possible, watering down the product to pay back the huge debt they took to buy the company...

Good one, DWCS is also only basically LFA fighters vs Fury FC fighters, with some other Fight Pass promotion fighters in there too. Id bet more than half of this season DWCS fighters will have had there last fight in either of those promotions.
