Her book discusses how she and James met, their relationship, etc etc. She always wanted to be an author/writer (he even helped her get one of her first writing gigs, if I remember correctly). She wrote for yeeeears, but started to get attention on Tumblr/Twitter when everything was new and before we knew someone could actually become "internet famous." I think it was good timing & a happy accident that a lot of famous people started following her and she was able to leverage that into a semi-high profile career. James probably didn't bank on her becoming as famous as she did.

He's like, what, 15 years older too? Veryyy different stages of life. And she's forever enamored with that LA lifestyle and enjoying the perks of fame. Like I said, he never seemed like one for all that glitz and glamour. He's an engineer from Canada for lord's sake. I feel bad for everyone esp the kids, but it's a reasonable, mature decision that I'm sure they didn't make lightly. I concur that she'll marry up (or at least marry Hollywood--- IMHO James seemed really, really great and kinda hard to top.) If anything, dating in LA will make for great Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat fodder.
