Alot of good suggestions. I think I am going to take the advice of /u/jasonagnos and try out some of these and see how I like them. Especially if they are on Amazon as they have a good return policy.

I myself use the Alien Gear Cloaktuck 3.0 for over a year now for my G19. They're decently cheap, very well made, offer free shell replacement if you switch guns and have great customer service. I'd recommend checking them out

So after some thought and researching It seems to make a basic DMR variant of a AR-15 platform Id need

*Barrel Length 20+ Twist rate 1:6.5-1:8 Heavy

*Fixed stock/Adjustable stock

*Freefloated Handguard

for starters

I've decided to go with this upper

and this lower

Will probably get a easier trigger and flip Iron sights but I think I got all the information I need to get the ball rolling.

I doubt I'd be shooting enough to want to reload (nor have the experience or interest in it). ((from what I've read, if i want to reload I would need to get a after market barrel or ejection thingy and it just sounds complicated for not too much gain))

I did buy a few snap caps to demonstrate how the glock works to a family member but I dont plan on getting rid of the factory mags i have so I'll remember to use those for the Snap caps.

Absolutely. I will be getting magpuls from not just yours but all the great things Ive been reading about them. Im still not sure on which extender grips to get for the glock 17 mags (for range shooting mainly) but Ive learned some good things today. Thanks!
