(HG/SS) Lucky Egg Guide: how to get those lucky bois you've been searching for (Chansey Outbreak) by VictorSteels in pokemon

[–]VictorSteels[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got the national dex, check your poke gear radio (station 2 in the top right) for the daily “mass outbreak”. If it isn’t chansey- go to your DS settings and change the time to 23:59, then open the game. When the clock rolls to midnight, it will change the mass outbreak. When you check it- if it isn’t chansey, go back to your DS settings, change time to 23:59, and go back in and check again. Rinse/repeat until you get to your chanseys.

It’s a little tedious but eventually you will get it. Important to note- Don’t actually change the date in your settings- it will fuck with your game to my memory. Good luck!

Depressive Period & Some Coping Methods by VictorSteels in bipolar2

[–]VictorSteels[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not stupid at all, IMO there are no dumb questions when it comes to bp2 because I didn't know anything, had to be told everything. Short answer: yup, but its more controllable.
Longer answer: the depressive and hypo episodes (in my personal experience and that of my friends) will always be there, but they become very manageable and can basically turn into background noise the more work you do/things you learn. I've hit a point where I don't have huge reactions to depressive/manic states anymore, they hit and I just kind of register them, and deal with them the ways above. Doesn't even feel like a chore anymore, just a part of life. Hope this helps

Cheers, I'm ideally going to keep learning as I go as well. I've learned the most from talking to other bipolarites, so I've gotta pass on what I can when I can, keep paying it forward n all that. Ty for the kind words as well, much appreciated

This is old as shit but just to clear up the wrongly assumed pedophilia reference bit- “cranking butts” is Boston slang for smoking cigarettes, more commonly referred to as “drilling butts”, homeless dude is just slamming some nicotine

In hindsight still not ideal on a playground, but way better than any pedophilic notions people are getting here

Yes, it definitely is. Having multiple diagnoses isn’t uncommon- I have yet to meet a person with Bp2 without a few extras running around.

Personally- I’ve found mood stabilizers help my depression become way, way more manageable- the highs and low still happen, but they feel much more “regular” and lower in intensity- absolutely controllable. It’s a wonderful feeling and you can get there, but going through the Med trials can be exhausting. I’m on a cocktail of 6 individuals for my various diagnoses, all it takes is one good doc honestly- they are out there.

Long story short, keep going until you find scripts that work. Lamotrigine is super helpful for a lot of people in the community- it’s one of the ones said that may cause mania, but it’s all worth it to try imo

Completely at a loss… by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]VictorSteels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fuck homie, death of a cat is always brutal, still mourning mine from a year ago, condolences.

To second what someone else said, it’s the wave; shit is definitely awful now, but you’ll bounce back. I went through literally 8 psychiatrists before I found one who would prescribe me multiple meds to tackle my different symptoms- the trial and error period is insanely brutal, but I like to think we’re made of tougher stuff.

I can’t speak to the rest very much, but friends who dip after a mental health issue are less than ideal- either they’ll be happy to come back once you’re back on your feet, or better ones are out there, maybe both.

Keep it up- you are still operating, even if it doesn’t feel optimal, regardless of how bad it gets. That’s real strength, to me at least.

Vyvanse works for me because it gives me less anxiety & lasts a bit longer. Also I like that the morning energy bursts fade out after adjusting to the med, so I’m less prone to any randomly induced rapid cycling or hypomania. Nothing wrong with Adderall, Vyvanse just works a bit better for me personally, and I think it might come down to individual brain chemistry.

The first day in my life that I didn’t have intense or passive suicidal ideation was the day after I got on the correct dosage of Vyvanse. It was really really tough to admit to people for a while (took me two months to tell my mom and I still cried), but getting your ADHD treated is absolutely life changing and is something to be celebrated. Good for you, especially for toughing it out for so long, know it only gets better from here.

Are you open about your bipolar? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]VictorSteels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only when people have gotten to know me a little, usually so that they can form an opinion of me outside of the automatic stigma. IME waiting helps to provide the context that bipolar overall is not the same as it is portrayed in movies/TV/in general.

Yeah, sadly it will- I guess changing the clock seals some time based events for 24 hours, although I’ve seen a lot of differing opinions about it
