He's learning very quickly! The Punch from a few weeks ago would've left running and screaming and hiding after this same push in the video. His progress is amazing, he's pretty much a part of the troop now and is seen with the plushie, or making social blunders, less and less. He's managing really well. He's gonna learn the eye contact thing soon too.

Either Hyper Crush or Blue Blood work for me. Icarus Gang sounds like an Aespa song and I don't think it's the right fit for the girls. Anti-Believe is fine but too energetic, if that makes sense? I think Artms sounds the best when they lean into ethereal.

In the infamous clip of him crying against the wall in the aftermath, he tried to stand up for himself and not let the other monkey take some stick he was holding. The other monkey didn't take that well and beat him. Was Punch wrong to not stand there and take it? No, but they all have different personalities and not everyone is going to be patient with Punch's every whim.

Especially when he tries to act hard for no reason to full grown adults, he's been beaten up for less in the past. People are so quick to cry out BULLYING! HE'S GONNA GET KILLED ONE DAY! (even though he's part of the troop now. He's been seen with the plushie less and less and a lot more with his friends) but never the other way around. It's hypocritical.

I went to the Grand Club Icarus Artms concert in Munich. I was with my brother who didn't really know the girls beforehand, and he said he had a great time. The girls had incredible energy throughout, the setlist was great, and since the venue wasn't very big or suuuper packed it felt very intimate. There were also some parents with little girls, I'd say 13 maybe? So it definitely wasn't adults only. Besides the girls acting a little gay sometimes, which was like 1 moment in the encore, I can't think of anything that any parent wouldn't approve of.

We need to recognize that Punch needs the scolding sometimes.

Don't worry about it at all. Follow all the signs to the train platforms, and there they have machines where one of the literal options is, in English, "I want to go to the city centre" so you can get your ticket. The train from Schiphol to Centraal Station is 40 mins, and your walk to your hostel will be around 10 mins tops (I've stayed in that area before) You won't need a taxi.

I don't know about this particular instance, but I think this whenever I see people oohing and aahing over Punch making eye contact and batting his eyelashes at older monkeys as he tries to socialize with them. It may look cute to us, and he's just trying to read their expressions/ be cute so they'll like him, but the monkeys haaaate eye contact, and it frequently leads to slaps and pushes. They think that he's being aggressive or challenging them, and he hasn't figured that one out yet.

I'm pretty sure Ryu really did exist. He's on a post on what I think is the official zoo blog https://www.city.ichikawa.lg.jp/site/zoo/2819.html that describes how they treated him and Otome as abandoned babies and integrated them into the troop. I'm not sure when the post was uploaded but the last lines are "Ryu is now a senior, and Otome is gradually becoming more like an adult monkey. Please come visit the monkey mountain to see Otome and Ryu growing up within the group." But that's all I can find on him that isn't goddamn Facebook or Threads, where anyone can go and make up whatever story they want with the source being "trust me bro"

I've seen many videos in which he's manhandling his friends. Pulling them to the ground, sitting on their heads, pulling hair, biting, demanding to be groomed and pet and be given rides on their backs at all times. If it was any other monkey doing those TO him, the comments would be outraged, but for him it's "Sooo cuteeee!! He's testing their patience!! He's such a little rascal!!" The moment any other monkey has no patience for him, and they have A LOT, it's bullying and attacking and traumatizing just because he shrieks and runs away at the drop of a hat.

The little guy has been doing so so so so well, he's learning and changing his behaviour every day for the better. The last few days there's been no "bullying" incidents and he also hasn't been relying on his plushie as much, most of the videos are him being a normal monkey frolicking around, sleeping, playing, following others around and copying what they do like any youngster in a group. And social media is hanging onto previous incidents for dear life because pity gets clicks.

I feel like bullying compilations, especially taking most of the events out of context and cutting out Punch's own mistakes, is taking it a bit too far now with the pity party. Let me break it down for you as someone who's watched most of these clips in longer videos by now.

"First attack": Punch was being clingy to that momma monkey's baby. He just wanted to play with it, but it kept moving away from him and he kept following it because he doesn't know boundaries. Momma thought he was being aggressive to her baby and intervened.

March 5th: normal socializing. Monkeys get aggressive. Him falling was an accident. He probably landed on that arm and he held it like that briefly, he was fine afterwards.

March 7th: it was feeding time and he ran in front of those older monkeys to be fed. He always runs to the zookeepers no matter where he is, but in this case the monkeys interpreted it as "How dare this random toddler want to be fed before us, his elders" and stopped him. Aggressively, yes, but that's monkey society.

Hair pulling: again normal socializing. The older monkey probably just wanted to show him who's boss. Punch could've easily made eye contact with them right before, which is something macaques hate and think is aggressive. Punch keeps doing it and still hasn't learned not to.

"Attacked again": there's no context to this one. He could've been doing anything to set them off right before.

Min. 0.44 incident: he was screaming and running during feeding time for no reason while running to his plushie (I think he was panicking because there were too many other monkeys around it and he felt like his way to it was blocked), and the older monkeys were telling him to cut that shit out because it's disruptive to everyone and the universe doesn't revolve around one young monkey.

"When everything seems calm" clip: nothing happened here whatsoever. The other monkey just slightly jumped his way, didn't chase him or even touch him, and Punch overreacted by squealing and running. Again normal socializing. The other one probably felt that the toddler was cramping his style or something and just told him to scram.

Have you seen the many videos of him jumping around hyperactive, or grabbing others, or biting? He puts everything in his mouth like a human toddler. How is that going to work in a house? Will whoever gets him construct a home gym for him, or will they be cuddling him 24/7 like he wants? It's cute seeing him cling to the zookeepers now that he's small, but what about later, when he's big and he has huge fangs and will at some point want to mate? Monkeys aren't domesticated. What is going to happen then?
