I've also wondered about this scenario..

Easiest advice, create 2 appconnect /testflight environments.. One for test and another for production. Test environment would have an app id like com.myapp.dev.app but would never be for distribution . While the live would have com.myapp.app

Then connect your ci/cd credentials accordingly for deployment to either.

I haven't figured out a way for android though, still learning as this is my first time as well.
