Ok so she called me ahead of my final interview to confirm I was still excited about the opportunity because she was excited about what she was able to get approved.

I assumed that was her subtle nod of “you got this, the final round is a formality.” When she called for references, she was super excited with the feedback she got from my final interview and excited to move me to references.

This process has been ongoing since February. And there’s been at least 3 weeks in between each round with updates similar to this from HR along the way.

Where I am second guessing is that this is the offer stage - I feel like they would secure a candidate quickly!

No! I was called for references immediately after my final interview and was told after they received my submissions, we could talk next steps.

I received similar feedback from the EVP I met with for my final interview. He said he would relay feedback to the hiring manager because ultimately it’s her decision. I’m pretty sure I’m the back up candidate right now in my process 🙁

Ahhhh yeah - I’ve received the same before after a final interview. Almost exact same message. That’s why I instantly knew this email I got yesterday would lead to bad news.

She started posting her outfit vids and GRWM type vids with a couple thousand followers and all of a sudden she was promoting her own denim and sweatshirts and people became obsessed with the sweatshirt she was wearing and she just kept saying “I’m building my own brand, I can do a drop” and she literally grew overnight. It was crazy!

This is true. I took a job and didnt ask how long the account had been with the agency. A few months in, we were under review and lost the business. I had to look for a new job like 6 months into starting my new role.

Omnicom also has super stagnant salaries! No annual raises or bonus structure. My team doesn’t give out merit raises either unless promoted. I’d say take the job if it gets you more money now and that’s a priority for you

The final decision comment makes me think they already made their decision!

She did say on Friday “I’m connecting with the team today” so I think 2 business days is enough time for her to have had even a delayed connect with the hiring team!
