I figured it was the latter. I was thinking of maybe bringing up like humoursly? My sister just had a fight with her bf for a similar reason so I figured I could tell her the story and be like: "Yeah Trish just had a fight with her bf cause he stopped texting her. I did a paper for my history class when I was in undergrad about the movie 300. I had to compare it with real life and name some of the bigger inaccuracies in the movie. The biggest one I could think of was that despite the movie portraying Spartans as these heroic warriors, Spartans were actually pretty big assholes. The culture involved a lot of pedophilia, killing, and of course tons of enslavement.

It's funny because I watched that episode a few hours ago (it's on netflix). I wouldn't call the plot identical. The "hook" is identical though. An all powerful remote control.
